My books (and other books about queer youth) do belong in schools, and I appreciate all the librarians and educators and book fairs that make that happen.
More than anything, I’m rooting for your child’s happiness and strength and freedom. I hope they don’t grow up like you.
I'm adapting
#TheyBothDieAtTheEnd
for TV as the creator, screenwriter, and executive producer. Legit dream!! Long road ahead, but Mateo and Rufus's story has always been about meaningful journeys—I'm ready to go bring my "Before Sunrise meets Black Mirror" series to life. 👥☠️🔚
Whoever needs to hear this I had very average grades and went to summer school three years in a row and I'm a
#1
New York Times bestselling author. You are not your grades.
THEY BOTH DIE AT THE END is currently the top-selling YA book of 2021. Like. Out of every YA book—old and new. EVERY YA BOOK!!!! My queer Latinos are doing their damn thing. Thank you Mateo & Rufus, and thank you all.
news soon!! xx
What sucks about this The Bookseller business is that there's no attention on the article itself which is highlighting the success of a story about queer Latinos by a queer Puerto Rican. Really hope The Bookseller can make this right.
Hi!! This has been a long time coming, but I'm leaving Twitter today. (I'll still be active on Instagram.) I'll pop in for major updates. But until then, I have many new books to write and tv shows to create. Thank you for ALL the support over the years!!
Mad love,
Adam & Tazz
I’m writing two new interconnected novels set in the
#TheyBothDieAtTheEnd
universe, beginning with THE FIRST TO DIE AT THE END, a prequel that begins on day one of Death-Cast and starring new star-crossed lovers!!

I dreamt
@TaikaWaititi
signed on to direct the THEY BOTH DIE AT THE END tv show and then I woke up and apparently he's not attached to direct THEY BOTH DIE AT THE END?! WTF.
@AdamSilvera
Hi Adam, we noted this on Friday, and I emailed your publisher to apologise. We corrected the online version then, with the version attached. Please accept my apology; it was entirely my fault, not Matthew Todd's and I am happy to re-run the piece next week in print again.
it's wild how much news I'm sitting on, and how much my workload has mounted in the past couple of weeks for both books and tv.
I think some tv news is expected to drop next week 😅
Huge thanks to everyone who spoke out against this literal book burning. I’ve experienced a lot of ugliness over the years because I write about queer characters but this personal episode was especially violating and depressing during a mental-low. So thank you for the support 💙

There may or may not be news today. And by that, I don't mean there will definitely be news today. I legit don't know! It's up in the air. But it's really exciting! So fingers crossed 💙
Book 7 revisions have been turned in, which means it's time to start drafting Book 8 which hasn't been announced yet and is due scarily soon. Plus a TON of producer/creator work, including on another adaptation that hasn't been announced yet :) BUSY but love the work ahead of me
Every generation has a moment where they have had to stand up for democracy. To stand up for their fundamental freedoms. I believe this is ours.
That’s why I’m running for reelection as President of the United States. Join us. Let’s finish the job.
If Twitter shuts down and this is my last tweet I would like to leave you all with a single message of utmost importance:
I am not Adam Silver, the commissioner of the NBA.
Best,

There’s a third Death-Cast novel that will be released in 2024! It’s a romantic thriller starring characters you meet in THE FIRST TO DIE AT THE END.
I hope to write many many many many more Death-Cast novels beyond that. It’s my favorite universe I’ve created.
I just pitched a bunch of books I didn't write to an awesome producer, and I loved it. It reminded me so much of what I loved about bookselling, and I'm hoping a couple of these things go through.
I currently do not have the time to finish my INFINITY SON screenplay so I'm thinking about opening those rights. But it's hard to find someone who would adapt a contemporary fantasy in NYC with Latinx and queer leads.
😬 it’s absolutely about Mateo and Rufus with additional screen time for Death-Cast as an organization. But Death-Cast is the world of the show, not the heart.
I’m assuming the
#theybothdieattheend
Netflix series will center around the conversation of dystopian death-cast, rather than the character’s stories in the book(s). For this I am eternally grateful because I don’t think I could go on watching Mateo on screen.
@AdamSilvera
This is 100% the vibe if I ever write a Death-Cast novel in Paris.
I’d probably write from the POV of an American tourist who gets the Death-Cast call and then 🤐
I finally listened to FOLKLORE and i'm listening to EVERMORE now. I'll be sharing my thoughts (and chatting about other fun pop culture stuff) with

If you liked THEY BOTH DIE AT THE END and you're ready to welcome more heartbreak into your life, the HISTORY IS ALL YOU LEFT ME ebook is $1.99. I'm really proud of this book about a boy connecting with his dead first love's new boyfriend.

I’m nearing the end of
@AdamSilvera
’s INFINITY SON audiobook just in time for my Audible credits to get the next book, INFINITY REAPER. If I had my way, Kevin Feige would call him and say “Please write a Hulkling and Wiccan movie for us.” 😀
Mateo and Rufus are back + alive and well in
#TheFirstToDieAtTheEnd
aka the prequel to
#TheyBothDieAtTheEnd
which takes places on the first day of Death-Cast/7 years before TBDATE.
Mateo and Rufus aren’t the central protagonists but they make multiple appearances ☠️🔚💙🖤
