Semi-controversial opinion: Edgy layouts and fancy animations are overused on Webflow. They often require a large amount of mental processing power to consume and therefore should be used sparingly.

It took me 5 minutes to design the @relume_io logo My process: 1. Picked an icon from an icon pack 2. Customised it by 20% 3. Found a nice font and typed “Relume” Stop overcomplicating things. It’s more important to get your logo out there, then it is to get it perfect.

A simple principle to improve typography: Reduce line height and letter spacing as text size increases. What I use: For smaller text (<20px): → Line height: 1.4 to 1.6 → Letter spacing: 0% to 3% For larger text (>20px): → Line height: 1 to 1.3 → Letter spacing: -3% to 0%

Tip for improving the use of colour on your website: Match the temperature of neutral colours with the temperature of the primary colour. Eg. If the primary colour is blue, then your neutral colours should have a “cool” tone.

1.6 yrs ago I built my first page on Webflow. It took me 20.5 hrs to build (see image) Yesterday I built the same page using @relume_io library as a test. This time, it took me 54 mins to build. That’s 22X faster. If you’re new to Webflow, hang in there, it gets easier.
