The driver was charged with Misdemeanor Fleeing, not at felony. The driver accelerated even after LRPD employed blue lights. ASP was involved in only the final few seconds of the pursuit that LRPD began. Before ASP engaged, LRPD had pursued the motorist for approximately 5 miles.
