Dropping the kick-side shoulder at contact is a common issue w/ kickers. Tip 💡: In the FG stance, use the kick-side hand and grab hold of the waistband of their plant-side. This isolates the kick-shoulder in a neutral (natural) position, not allowing it to drop. 🗣

🎥 Coach Lundy on why excessive (heel led) FG backswings lead to downswings prior to ball contact
💡A controlled backswing (use of glute) allows a downswing to occur on 1 plane
🏈 Swinging on 1 plane minimizes variables in a FG process, resulting in repeatable (foot on ball)…
I apologize to athletes/coaches/parents for delayed responses to calls, etc. My mother in law lost her home to Hurricane Ian & we’ve taken her household in.
It’s been amazing to see our community come together during this tough time. Your continued prayers are appreciated! 4👇U
🎥 Coach Lundy demonstrates an effective FG downswing
💡 Deviating off the downswing line creates knee separation, low trajectory & loss of power

🎥 Coach Lundy on FG progression
👣 Speed increase = stride increase
✅ S > M > L step progression
❌ S > S > XL step progression
💡 Natural FG progressions result in:
- Less variables
- Repeatability (plant/contact/finish)
- Confidence in the next kick
Kickers are only as effective as the operation. Try our ‘FG Spot Repeat Drill’ w/ your teammates. 🎥 Spot marked @ 7.5 yds from snapper w/

Punters are effective when their process is simple; limited head movement is vital. This drill’s emphasis keeps the head on a similar plane throughout.
*Notice the black part of the background wall is used as a ‘level plane’ reference for the head.

Trouble w/ KO steps?
🎥 Coach Lundy on manipulating the distance traveled in a KO approach
💡KO Suggestions
- Transitions: walk > jog > 3/4 sprint
- Walk (small), jog (medium), finish (large)
- Finish w/ your body (not the leg)
It’s all in the details at…
We’ve seen 7 missed XPs in 8

games today… & we’re in the 1st half! Kickers should spend less time working from 60 yards & more time kicking 30-50 yd FGs, where your teams needs you most.

Many coaches declare, “he’s the best K/P/LS in his class.” Ignore these coaches.
The best are focused solely on being better than yesterday. Comparison is a killer; work & recognitions will follow.
In 19 years coaching specialists I'm proud to say I've never given a ⭐️/ranking. Thanks to the 200+ college coaches who didn't mind, offering my young men an opportunity to play college football nonetheless...truly

Trouble finding KO steps?
🎥 Coach Lundy on manipulating the distance traveled in a KO approach.
💡 KO steps are personal. Stride length, tempo, step pattern, etc, are all variables to consider.
🔬 Manage a KO process w/ dry reps (no ball). Fresh legs = great KO legs
👤 Coach Lundy talks backswing
🎥 Activate: glute > hamstring > foot
💡 No Step FG is a good low-stress drill to train the backswing

Kickoffs are won/lost @ the drive step. Kickers often over-stride from the drive step, crashing into their plant; limiting the finish. 👀 the shaving cream dot @ 2️⃣ yds (drive step), this is an optimal distance to drive that enables a finish.

🎥 Challenging, low-stress punt drills
💡 Increase the level of difficulty in training; aim small, miss small
- Moderate: Size 1 ⚽️
- Difficult: 🎾

Had an excellent convo w/ an SEC STC & he informed me of their current standards for specialists:
FG Op: 1.3 seconds or less
Punt Op: 2 seconds = .7 (Snap) + 1.3 (Hand to Foot)
Begin w/ the end in mind specialists.

The Partner Holding Drill allows for a high volume of reps, focusing on ball lean, lace adjustments, etc. Partners should let the football make 1 full rotation in transition. Holders should flick the ball lightly to their partner, verifying light pressure was applied.

Holding Drill: Both holders continuously exchange reps to: 1) Adjust laces to target 👉 2) Lean ball to kicker’s liking 👉 3) Finish w/ a flick, ensuring there is minimal downward pressure applied to the ball when holding (critical for optimizing ball flight)

Lenson is an exceptional coach. Field space limited? Leg tired? Incorporate low stress, K/P/LS-specific activities during ‘Indy’ time. Work smart, the season’s a marathon. 4👇U
Productive practice yesterday with

punters. Using a tennis ball to keep our leg fresh and also a smaller sweet spot so our drop needs to be 🔒‘Ed in‼️Also if you’re not up make sure you’re getting your mental reps in⬇️⬇️
