We farm the qrt by the cemetary. I dont always stop and jump the fence to go say hi, but today I did. 14 years is a long time and yet sometimes it feels like yesterday. Max and Ian would be 14 this June. Jay and Moly would be 12 in November. Life is a blessing.

Dad was feeling pretty good today. He called and wanted to come ride with me. He knew I'd be drilling one of the first qrts he farmed as a young man. "Sure isn't a old #10 and a 930 Case" he said as I helped him out of the tractor. Not sure how many of these moments we got left

Sold a few bred hfrs today. Dad was up to making the trip.Russell Livestock Com has a chairlift to the top of the ring and I am thankful for that.Couldn't get into his old spot but this was close enough. Dad bought thousands of cattle from that chair over the last 40yrs.

Years ago when I was probably 17 or 18 we we were pushing hard harvesting. I was getting pretty short with some of the help. My dad who is a custom Harvester for 20 years pulled me aside and had a little talk with me. He said Son you need to be more like a duck. 1/3

Glider kit pickups! Why isn't that a thing? We got half a dozen 12 valve Dodge Cummins with 5-speed Transmissions around the farm here. They all have between 250 and 350 K miles on them the bodies are completely falling apart but the drivetrain is Rock Solid. I need glider kits

Ordered a cylinder pin for my Chopper overnighted it in was the wrong PIN got ahold of the parts guys after hours on a Saturday afternoon they realized it was their mistake and the parts manager after hours drove 45 miles one way to bring me the right pin. #whyIrunclaas

Our daughter made a list of new years resolutions at the beginning of 2020. Top of the list was learn how to run a baler. Thanks to some time with her uncle Joe and her wanting to ride all the time she is picking it up like a natural. She's 10 and the spark has been ignited.

Sure am glad for 5 ft tall bluestem. Makes a natural wind break when you get down in it. Cows just go off and make a nest and hunker down. Its 18°and 20 mph wind. Had 2 calves and they have handled it fine with the protection of that grass.

6/? I learned that carbon monoxide poisoning is nothing to take lightly. I am so thankful we left the shop whem we did. Another our amd this might not of had a happy ending. I now have 2 detectors in the shop. We got lucky and learned a valuable lesson. All of us recovered fine

Bought a 13 year old combine last weekend.... came from a good home was well maintained. Run it 4 days hard now it has worked flawlessly. It needs some parts, augers are getting thin here and there. But I'm inspired I may never buy another new combine again.
