Imagine treating international students as cash cows to finance the whole institutional shebang while at the same time denying them a right to family while they pay through the nose to study here
From today, the majority of foreign university students cannot bring family members to the UK.
In 2024, we’re already delivering for the British people.

I have a friend doing their PhD in the UK, and they have to pay $25k tuition at an elite university (think Oxbridge). In the US most phds come with five years of guarenteeed funding. I really don’t see why anyone would go to the UK, imho.
@amnamirza
That’s a lot of money! Plus from what I understand the UK is generally much happier to accept self-paying PhDs and funding is limited versus the US where a majority of PhDs are funded (and the whole set up functions better as a professional training programme anyway).

Why wld any country allow students 2 bring their spouses??!! So, that they can stay here and freeload on all social services?? Not 2 mention have child birth to get them auto-citizenship??!! It’s very important to pay first by working in that said country for few yrs paying taxes
