big love to people unsure how they’ll adjust to social spaces and crowds and people again after a year of being stuck at home please all of you remember that anyone you know who lives as housebound even without the pandemic will probably encounter this, and probably repeatedly

repeatedly bc if you’re housebound now, you might not be in the future for a bit, but big relapses may put you back there, so it’s like the worlds slowest shittest Hokey Cokey and without fail everyone mostly thinks you weird for feeling it

most of this year is me begging ppl who might finally get even a bit of this life from this year to make a conscious effort to remember these feelings and be mindful of them for the sake of those of us for whom this is the norm

I go to maybe one or two social gatherings a year at all and spend a portion of all of them incapable of shutting up about how weird it is to “finally be outside” anddddd god it’s going to be even worse in terms of reactions and understanding after all this isn’t it

@zaranosaur Worst nightmare. This keeping 2 metres apart has been bloody wonderful for my mobility.

@DomesticPlodess I’ll bet. I haven’t been able to leave the house and be near people as I’m clinically high risk and already had a mild bout and long COVID stuff and can’t risk another.
