I know this is a total clusterfuck, but police providing notes from a meeting with a rape crisis counsellor is absolutely unconscionable. I feel sick.

@yodaberg I can't deal with all of this, having been in those counselling spaces, if I thought anyone had access to reading them I would feel so violated.

@TessRyan1 It would be so triggering to anyone who has ever made use of those services. It's just so so bad. SO BAD.

@yodaberg Some jurisdictions have legislative limits on sexual abuse counselling records being produced or utilised in criminal proceedings.

@yodaberg Not sure I agree. Absent any particular rule in ACT law, they’re evidence relating to the allegations. If she’s told the counsellor one thing and says another in the witness box the jury needs to know.

@sdtuc2 That is so utterly ridiculous. It was psychology. The patient has a right to privacy.

@yodaberg @ochreblue How did the police get hold of them? Wouldn't it be illegal for a psychologist to provide counselling notes to anyone?

@yodaberg Why ? If the sex was reversed - and it was a rape or a murder - would you still feel sick ? Does the truth matter to you at all ???

@yodaberg The words “perverting the course of justice” come to mind. I sincerely hope charges are laid. This is indeed sickening.

@yodaberg Looks like a very misogynistic police approach. The Moller report’s conclusions on her psyche & her emotions post event and the judgement all phrased about her not unnaturally confused actions & recollections; using historic texts to explain their rationale. A mock investigation

@yodaberg @Lynny_Pinnie Why would anyone go to the police in the knowledge that this could happen. Just beyond words

@yodaberg And the Prosecutor read the notes, knowing he shouldn't have them. Not the most shocking revelation in this case to come put today. It remains utterly unfathomable that this ever made it into a court room.

@yodaberg Read article by @jkalbrechtsen and Stephen Rice. I think after this review is complete, a further review into the Commonwealth payout, who authorised it and why will need to be conducted.
