Even with being triple vaxxed, careful masking and only hanging out in small groups after testing, yesterday I tested positive for COVID.
The most frustrating part is I almost certainly got it from going to the ER earlier this week for an asthma attack.
This is why taking this individualistic approach to vaccines is dangerous. You don’t live in a vacuum. I had no choice but to go to the ER for a non-COVID emergency, and was in a place full of COVID and unvaccinated people and now I’m paying the price for taking care of myself
This is also why the “only people with comorbidities need to worry” talking point is dangerous and ableist. I am one of those people along with so many others - our lives are not less valuable because we were sick before the pandemic
This is so frustrating, not because catching COVID is a moral failing but because it never needed to be like this. All levels of government have failed us which has led to overrun hospitals, new variants of the virus and unnecessary pain and death.
COVID is honestly hitting me pretty hard so I’m out of commission for a little while. While I rest and recuperare I will dream of a State House and a White House that values the life of all of us, and dares to be proactive in the face of a global pandemic.

Sadly the ER and clinics are and always have been breeding grounds for sickness.Keep your distance, stay sanitized & wear ya mask while inside 🏥
