Thanks to all who tested it!!
It seems that there are people who are selling the BETA of my CFW 4.91 on telegram. DON'T PAY ANYTHING!!! My CFW is free for everyone. If you have paid something, please send me the link so I can investigate who did it
CFW 4.91 base versions updated, fixed the following bugs:
- Freezes while installing PKG from external HDD ntfs/exfat
- Loading plugins with boot_plugins_nocobra.txt
and boot_plugins_kernel_nocobra.txt
- Random freezes while loading PSP/PS3/PS2 ISOs
Main CFWs 4.89 and variants created, are the following:
Main CFWs
- CEX
- DEX
- PEX
- D-PEX
CFW variants
- noBD
- noBT
- noBD + noBT
- Overclocked (600MHz / 750MHz)
I will install all of them and check if all is fine
The CFW 4.89 Evilnat will be released in 1-2 days from now. I'm going to wait for the testers to use it normally. If there are no issues, it will be released
Options [Enable Gameboot] and [Disable Gameboot] added to xai_plugin
Shows or not the original PLAYSTATION 3 gameboot animation when starting a game or application
My CFW has been updated with some minor fixes for BC PS3s, now PS2 discs and ISOSs should work as expected. Download it again if you have this issue
Uploaded CEX version variants CEX/DEX/PEX/D-PEX, I will create all the other ones when I have some time
New options added in xai_plugin:
- Dump EEPROM
- Dump SYSCON Error Log
- Dump Token Seed
- Update xai_plugin
- Enable/Disable PSN Protection (when syscalls are enabled)
I want to release the CFW this week. I hope everything works correctly
To install my CFW 4.91 it is necessary to have a PS3 compatible with CFW and not be in OFW, if these conditions are met it will give you an error when installing
To be able to install on OFW it is necessary to use BGToolset or Flash Writer for 4.91 (not available at this time)
I successfully ported the OFW 4.84 DEX module checker_plugin.sprx to work with current XMB layout and version for 4.90
Now it works together with explore_plugin.sprx, both modules are working as expected on CFW 4.90
Updated CFW versions of my MEGA folder, I have corrected an error with backward compatible PS3 that gave black screen when loading PS2 discs, my toolchain breaks payloads on Windows, now compiled on Linux. If anyone can try it I would appreciate it
CFW 4.91.2 Evilnat PEX/D-PEX [BETA 3] available for those who want to try it
- New kernel/Cobra payload build
- Fixed random freezes/crashes (Tested for several hours thanks to
@ktemanuel
)
CFW Evilnat 4.91.2 [BETA 5] available:
+ Fixed FAN max speed, now it shows 0xFF and 100%
+ Temporary disabled "Load External Cobra"
+ Reverted code for cobra in Kernel
For now this is what I have. An option to permanently decrypt 3k3y/Redump ISOs with disc key (if available). It still needs to be tested further
I would like to add it to Cobra to decrypt ISOs on the fly, but I still do not know if this is possible to do. I will try it
Here it is my CFW 4.91.2 [BETA 1] in case anyone wants to test it:
At the moment there are only the PEX (CEX) and D-PEX (DEX) versions. I need to know if the bugs that appeared randomly in the PS3/PS2/PSP/PS1 and Redump ISOS have been solved. Thanks!
CFW 4.88 Evilnat CEX (Cobra 8.3) released:

Updated Cobra to toggle PS2 CD/DVD icon in XMB

CFW 4.91.2 [BETA 4] is available
If there are no significant issues maybe this week I will release the final version for everyone (PEX/D-PEX/CEX/DEX and variants)
CFW 4.89.3 updated with Cobra 8.4 by default and xai_updater updated to v1.2 for all versions! It fixes updater package for CEX and DEX.

PS3 system library patched, now Target Manager will show 4.9.0 instead 4.8.4 from ported OFW 4.84 DEX
I want to make some more changes to be able to create version 4.90.2 of my CFW
[PS3 CFW] Cobra has support for encrypted ISOs on FAT32 partitions and it seems to be working without issues, and now I have added support for NTFS partitions and so far it works. I need to do more tests
I successfully ported the OFW 4.84 DEX module explore_plugin.sprx to work with current XMB layout and version for 4.90
Now some options from DEX like [β Check] and [β Owner Information] are available
Time to test if it is compatible with CFW, Cobra and homebrew
CFW Evilnat 4.91.2 [BETA 6] [PEX/D-PEX/CEX/DEX] available with variants noBD and Overclocked
- Fixed error 0x8002F155 while installing PUP
Please if anyone sees any errors (known or new) let me know, thanks! β€οΈ
Finally after a lot of work (really, looooooot of work) I made the first BETA 4.89.3. I have named them as "PEX" and "D-PEX" (I used the 'D' in honor to Rebug).
PEX means Ported dEX, because I have ported DEX Kernel and some modules from 4.84 to 4.89. Sending it to testers!
Update for xai_plugin:
- "Show IDPS/PSID/MAC" options merged in "Show IDs"
- Xai_plugin support for HEN (some options)
- Added "Spoof MAC" option
- "Dump IDPS/PSID/MAC" options merged in "Dump IDs"
- Updated "Show Total PS3 Usage" and "Temperature Information"
New option added in xai_plugin: [Toggle OFW Mode on Boot]
It will toggles between CFW syscalls on boot: enabled, disabled and partial. This option works together with Cobra, it will be updated too
Thanks to
@aldostools
For all those who asked me, I am developing and testing BETA v20 of my CFW Evilnat 4.90.2. I don't know the release date yet, there is still work ahead
New option from xai_plugin can be used now. I have updated xai_updater to version 1.1, it will update Cobra and xai_plugin. Now you can set [PS2 FAN Mode] in PS2 Classic games. Remember to launch the updater once it's downloaded
Patches to enable hidden trophy's title on XMB/INGAME/INFO
For everyone who wants my CFW BETA, please wait a little, I haven't created any new ones yet, I am researching and improving [Trophy Unlocker] plugin
Options [Enable OtherOS] and [Boot OtherOS] added in xai_plugin. I need more testing and maybe I'll need some testers who want to test it with flasher on NAND.
CFW Evilnat 4.89.3 is in development too
A test to fix the CBOMB problem on PS3. At the moment I have managed to make it work with a date prior to the current one, I must see how to replace it, but it is a good start
I haven't tried syncing the trophies but I imagine it won't work. I will continue investigating
1/2
Updated CBOMB fix for PS3 CFW, now the patch is hardcoded in the CFW itself
You will be able to play any digital game with a dead CMOS battery without doing anything else, trophies will have timestamp 2023-11-23β 16:00:00 if RTC is empty
Trophy Unlocker plugin for PS3 with CFW 4.90 in development
Will show locked and unlocked game trophies
I have done a first test. There are still a couple of details for the plugin to be 100%, but it works atm
Update for Trophy Unlocker plugin, added a message to unlock all trophies if the menu cannot be loaded due to lack of memory instead of unlocking them automatically
Options [Enable Support for DEX OFW] and [Disable Support for DEX OFW] seem to be working fine, now you can install OFW DEX (4.81 recommended) without bricking the PS3. Thank so much to
@notzecoxao
for the DEX leaf!
Update for xai_plugin (requested by
@aldostools
):
- "Dump IDs" option will dump IDPS, PSID, MAC and act.dat to dev_hdd0 or dev_usb
- "Show Total PS3 Usage" now will show improper shutdowns
Fixing up bugs about freezes in PS3/PSP ISOs. If you have information about more bugs, do not hesitate to tell me so I can fix them as soon as possible
Now ps2_netemu with RSX and CPU temps payload researched by
@3141card
was added to Cobra, thank so much to him!
For example, the string with the current temperature values can now be configured easily with assembly code
I was able to decrypt 3k3y/Redump ISOs on-the-fly with Cobra
I have tested it with encrypted Terraria ISO with 3 regions but I need to test it with another one with 5 regions
I'll post my progress as soon as I've tried it
CFW 4.88 Evilnat [Cobra 8.3] was sent to testers, I will only fix issues this time, so the CFW is oficially finished.
If all goes well, it will be released soon.
vsh.self from OFW 4.84 DEX successfully ported to 4.89, I patched it with RE and it seems that fixes all XMB layouts and now is compatible. Now I can use Target Manager on 4.89. Next step : add DEX Kernel to CoreOS
