Defensive options are key in Worldless.
"Guard" will negate damage if it matches Physical or Magical enemy attacks, but will eventually break.
Time your inputs to "Perfect Guard" and not deteriorate your shield.
With the goal to Absorb enemies for new skills, using the same action repeatedly is not the best way to build up the Absorption Meter.
Action variety however, will ensure the meter is filled greatly.
Creative combos are rewarded in Worldless.

After breaking the enemy "blocks", unleash Absorption based actions like lvl2 Magics, the Bow basics and Technique.
Even some Bosses can be obliterated in 1 turn.
"Defend" protects from any kind of incoming attack, but will only halve the damage taken.
Release the Defend input shortly after receiving an attack to "Deflect" and shoot back proportional Absorption Damage to the opponent.
"Assist" is an extremely useful skill. The non-active character is called & will perform an action to benefit the current combat situation. Utilise this as much as possible!

To Perfect Guard an enemy attack, press the correct guard input just before the action hits.
Make sure to hold the button and not just tap it if you press it too early, that way you will still Guard the attack and avoid damage.

A lot of work went into making sure each action has specific ranges for things like input buffers - cancel ranges that contribute to good "game feel".
Hit range has specific hit-stop and camera shake values to represent impact properly.
Some actions get pretty complicated.
Switch between characters freely, after a certain moment in the game, to expand your traversal options and reach new areas.

From Level Design - to painting on top of it to find the art needs.
Then working on small areas for greater detail and exploring specific assets.
Switch between characters in combat to adjust your strategy on the fly.
Characters are protected to any kind of attack during the Switch action, but strong moves will break this defense.

Some people have been asking about the state of the project, and rightfully so.
At the moment, the game is NOT under development.
We've been approached by some publishers, all thanks to the attention you all gave to us!
Collect "Neutral Shards" to increase the Offensive Time in combat.
Some are pretty hidden, others require a bit of skill and or puzzle solving.
Keep your eyes open and listen for sound cues alerting their location!
"Evade" can avoid any kind of enemy attack, but its long recovery time can make it tricky against multi-hit moves.
With upgrades, each successful Evasion will grant extra time to your next turn.
A new Worldless Demo patch is live!
Main technical issues have been resolved.
Other adjustments such as added tutorials have been implemented as well.

Nothing but the best art direction, obsessive detailed animation, an emotional score and a story that unfolds subtly, hitting you in the heart.
All in a videogame.
Seems like a good deal to me.
Performance during battle is key.
Good timing, avoid getting hit, variety of actions and overall optimization will allow you to Absorb the enemy before you Defeat it for special rewards.

Lvl3 Magics are big damaging moves that cover the entire screen.
These effects were very fun to create, combining frame by frame sprites, several glows and a bunch of particle systems.

To efficiently build Absorption meter, first focus on breaking enemy "Blocks" by matching the type of attacks displayed.
After, all attacks will cause Double Absorption Damage, use moves focused on this like the Bow Weapon and Magics lvl2.
"Sonar" is the main way to interact with your surroundings while exploring.
Create platforms, engage with combat scenarios and much more.

Internally called "Artema", this is one of the more complex magic visual effects in the game.
"Artema" is the Spanish translation for the "Ultima" spell in Final Fantasy games, a franchise where we drew a lot of references and did homages like this one.
