Gary Bettman in a media availability just now made the ridiculous and wildly false statement there is no tanking in the NHL. Trust me when I tell you, NHL teams would rather finish dead last than miss the playoffs by 2 points. Finishing in 17th place is a disaster.

Will never understand the conventional thinking within many NHL teams that a player has little chance of being an NHL player if not on a roster by 25 years of age. In other sports, a player is just coming into his own at 25, in the NHL, “Eh, he’s done. He has no chance.”
