@LightNGames1 There were no cases in the city & state for more than a month prior to the index case. The contact tracing has been extensive enough here to detect asymptomatic cases, and especially in June when there were far fewer infections — in the dozens in a population of 50 mil.

South Korea reports just 47 new cases of the coronavirus, the lowest daily uptick since infections began surging Feb 21, & the first time it's dipped below 50 since. At the peak, it was 900+ new cases in one day. Things could still turn on a dime, but feels like a milestone.

South Korea's 14-day quarantine has been no joking matter — everyone entering the country since April has been required to isolate for 14 days, enforced by a cell phone app and a live person who will check that you don't set foot outside your apartment or quarantine center.
