@Listen2Michigan
. Vote uncommitted in the Democratic presidential primaries to protest Biden’s support for Israel's genocide of the people of Gaza.
Our movement emerged victorious tonight and massively surpassed our expectations. Tens of thousands of Michigan Democrats, many of whom who voted for Biden in 2020, are uncommitted to his re-election due to the war in Gaza.
Please stop using Donald Trump as your human shield,
@JoeBiden
.
We understand the threat of Donald Trump against our communities more than anyone.
We don’t understand your weapons funding for Israel’s war in Gaza and occupation against the Palestinian people.
Despite the naysayers in the establishment, the Biden administration is moving because of the pressure from uncommitted voters.
But let’s be clear: this is a temporary ceasefire, or what they used to call a humanitarian pause.
What we are seeing every day in Gaza is devastating, and our common humanity compels us to act.
Given the immense scale of suffering in Gaza, there must be an immediate ceasefire for at least the next six weeks.
Michigan Democrats across faith and backgrounds are voting uncommitted in the upcoming primary election because we’re uncommitted to Biden’s financing of war and occupation in Palestine. Count us out,
@JoeBiden
.
If we can get 10,000 votes, we can demonstrate our power.
I won't mince words.
The overwhelming majority of Palestinians are not Hamas. And Hamas does not represent the Palestinian people.
In fact, they're also suffering as a result of Hamas' terrorism. We need to be clear-eyed about that reality.
This is an official branch of the Democratic National Committee implying that it might not support Biden in the general election because of his Gaza policy.
Less than two days out from the MI presidential primary. The vote uncommitted movement continues to expand across Michigan and abroad, as folks across the country are standing in solidarity with Michigan’s call for a permanent ceasefire.
Officially endorsed by
@ninaturner
Our response to the State of the Union: President Biden continues to not hear the voices of the anti-war movement across our country calling for a permanent ceasefire and an end to US weapons funding for Netanyahu’s genocidal campaign.
We made 505,000 calls and 650,000 texts in Michigan to get out the word about uncommitted and the war in Gaza. All in in less than three weeks time.
We have made 62,000 calls today and still have two hours left.
Count Michigan uncommitted for funding of war and genocide in Gaza.
While we’ve noticed a small shift in language from Biden as a direct result of this campaign’s pressure, we know that his words are not enough. This isn’t a messaging problem, this is a funding bombs problem.
President Biden has funded the bombs falling on the family members of people who live right here in Michigan. People who voted for him, who now feel completely betrayed.
President Biden, listen to Michigan. Count us out, Joe.
We don’t want a Trump presidency, but Biden has put Netanyahu ahead of American democracy. We cannot afford to pay the bill for disregarding Palestinian lives should it come due in November.
Our delegation plans to hold the Democratic nominee accountable to our community’s anti-war agenda at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. See you there
CNN on Biden’s visit to Michigan: “This is about the November election, but there will be a test case before that: February 27th. That is when the Michigan primary will be held, and there is a sense of voters here voting uncommitted. You can see behind me, a truck has pulled up.”
Hey
@JoeBiden
, Michigan asked you to listen, but you chose Netanyahu’s path, aiding in the killing of 30,000+ Palestinians. Tantrums won't save lives. Redirect your anger: cut weapons aid to Israel, demand a permanent ceasefire.
"I want to thank every Michigander who made their voice heard today. Exercising the right to vote and participating in our democracy is what makes America great." -
@JoeBiden
Michigan voters are sending President Biden a direct message in the February 27 Democratic primary: count us out, count Michigan uncommitted for Biden’s funding war and genocide in Gaza.

Today we launched our Uncommitted National Movement to let Biden know we aren’t going anywhere and we will not back down until we achieve a permanent ceasefire and end military funding to Israel.
One of our polling locations in Dearborn ran out of voter registration applications so they're waiting for the city to print and bring more. Stay in line!
Not a ballot has been counted and some are already misinterpreting the uncommitted vote in Michigan’s presidential primary. 👇
🔹First the baseline — almost 20,000 Michiganders voted uncommitted in 2020 in the midst of an active primary when no one asked them to. More than 10%…
The only way to achieve freedom and justice for Palestinians surviving a genocide is through an immediate and permanent cease-fire. The only way to ensure the safe return of all hostages and prisoners is through an immediate and permanent cease-fire.

This tragic act of protest by Aaron Bushnell weighs heavily on our hearts today, especially as we consider the unimaginable pain his family is experiencing.
STATEMENT: Today,
@SenSchumer
hinted at his potential support of using American financial and diplomatic leverage against the Israeli government. But actions speak loudre than words.
This super Tuesday, states across the country are following suit after a major victory for the uncommitted vote in Michigan last Tuesday. In efforts to warn Biden, he must change course on Gaza. The growing movement shows now is the time to listen.
“Many of us voted for Biden in 2020, including myself…but now we are saying count us out, Joe. Count us out for funding war and genocide.” -Layla Elabed

The HUGE write-in vote in Pennsylvania’s Democratic primary organized by
@uncommitted_pa
far exceeded Trump’s margin of victory in PA over Clinton in 2016. PA voters sent Biden a strong message: stop enabling Israel’s genocide of the people of Gaza. (1/2)
@AZAlawieh
“In 2020, the Arab and Muslim community, myself included, sat at the same table with Joe Biden and we campaigned hard to get him elected…you cannot fund the killing of 30,000 people expect that we will forget.” -Lexi Zeidan

Our movement’s demands have been clear: a lasting ceasefire and an end to US funding for Israel’s war and occupation against the Palestinian people.
Time is running out: for Gaza and our democracy.
We’re teaming up with
@listentowi
to send Biden an anti-war message in the crucial swing state of Wisconsin's April 2nd primary.
Sign up for a phone banking or text banking shift and tell your friends and family!
The uninstructed vote in Wisconsin’s Dem. primary yesterday was more than DOUBLE Biden’s margin of victory over Trump in WI in 2020. WI voters sent Biden a strong message: stop enabling genocide. If Biden refuses, he risks losing the key swing state to Trump.
That’s over 100,000 loyal Michigan Democrats saying they’re uncommitted to Biden as he continues funding Israel’s horrific war in Gaza.
We’re begging you to Listen to Michigan before you hand our democracy to Trump.
Multi-racial, multi-faith, multi-generational and anti-war coalition who is NOT down with genocide.
And we’re voting uncommitted in the February 27th Democratic presidential primary because of Biden’s active role in the Gaza genocide.
We know the pressure from uncommitted Democratic voters is working as Biden continues to give us wholly insufficient messaging shifts as we demand substantive policy change. A simple rebrand from a “six-week humanitarian pause” to a “six-week immediate ceasefire” is not enough.
NEWS: Washington will send two uncommitted delegates to the Democratic National Convention after about 14x as many people voted uncommitted in the state’s Democratic presidential primary this year as in 2020!
These 26 members of Congress — including Rep. Veronica Escobar, who co-chairs Joe Biden's 2024 campaign — are pressing the Biden administration to explain how exactly it has found Israel to not be violating international law:
We would have liked to see Biden call for a timetable from Israel’s government to end its war and occupation against the Palestinian people.
The people of Gaza appreciate the bandages from Biden opening a port, but they prefer an end to US-funded bombs.
“Enlightened Americans are no longer willing to tolerate the egregious status quo by opting, as expected, for the lesser of two evils. The only evil is genocide.”

launched their Vote Uninstructed on April 2nd movement.
The anti-war, pro-peace agenda is growing.
Responding to intense public pressure, Canada has halted arms transfers to Israel. Israel's far-right government is becoming an international pariah as it continues to commit war crimes against the people of Gaza daily.
CNN had more coverage of our campaign today: "Michigan is a problem for Biden. Muslim and Arab communities are not happy with him, young voters are not happy with his policy position on Israel and Gaza. They want to see a change."

Any military solution in Gaza would involve thousands more Palestinian civilians dying in a war funded by our President. The US-funded war and occupation of the Palestinian people must end.
Schumer hints at using U.S. leverage against Israel's dangerous policies, yet Netanyahu already acts violates American policies and values under Biden's watch. How many children in Gaza will be killed by Israeli bombs before Schumer demands an end to U.S. weapons aid?
To the heartbeat of our movement, our volunteers: thank you for getting us to over 2 million voter contacts in WI, and helping us tell Biden to stop enabling Israel’s war crimes.
Congrats on a well-organized, grassroots campaign,
@listentowi
.
Onward and upward.
"My greatest fear is that Mr. Biden will not be remembered as the president who saved American democracy in 2020, but rather as the president who sacrificed it for Benjamin Netanyahu in 2024."
We stand in solidarity with the brave students nationwide speaking out against Israel’s genocide of the people of Gaza. The pro-peace movement is strong, and only growing stronger.
To show our support, movement leader Lexis Zeidan took part in protests at
@UMich
today.
As a movement of Democrats vote uncommitted against Biden’s backing of Israel’s war in Gaza, Senator Schumer is beginning to shift but far too slowly and with little substance for what actions Biden can take now to stop the outrageous civilian death toll in Gaza.
Sips coffee as Biden thought we’d forget.
We’re telling him you can’t kill 30,000 people and not be held accountable, Joe.
Take the pledge and vote ✅ uncommitted for the presidential primary by February 27th.

turn out voters in the crucial swing state’s April 23 primary! Let Biden know that he must halt military aid to Israel and call for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza if he wants to be re-elected.
Schumer recently even addressed AIPAC's conference, a largely GOP-funded group seeking to defeat any Democrat who demands an end to unrestricted weapons aid to Israel.
