After a year and a half, my video package, the Complete Introduction to 2D Animation is up and ready! The goal is meant to introduce hand drawn animation in a more fun way! Visit my store at:
i'm gonna do an animation demo on adobe max using fresco on the ipad and I'm gonna have to address what exposures are. most illustration/drawing apps on the ipad don't have an animator friendly app so I can only talk abou things in fps.
I made a stupid joke about art/sketchbook bros who show off how much they study/draw, humble brag saying how much they suck yet show off intentionally seeking compliments, and how they circle jerk each other within communities.
I have a lecture on smears from my Complete Introduction to 2D animation which you can purchase through my store. However, here's some preview from that
Anim scrapbook page 7. Old notes I did about frame rate per second vs frame holds in a 24 fps. I simplified the language from my earlier wording of the og gif.
Sorry I haven't been posting much, but here is a Proof of Concept video for a thing I've been trying to develop. Because the idea is set in the early 1990s, the footage is really just to show the specific aesthetics and tone for it.
For those who are worried about having their own unique drawing style, spoiler alert: you already kinda have it. Let me explain, style is an accumulation of your culture, your tastes, your inspirations/influences, and your execution in a subject.
Found this hilarious daft punk x red hot chilli peppers mashup on YouTube (user nineleveno) that I couldn’t refuse to use. I 3d scanned parts of a park nearby with my phone, the new character animated in tvpaint, mashed together in blender
I redid a cleanup shot for a project I dropped a year ago. I am starting to transfer all my adobe flash/animate files into toonboom harmony because drawing in flash/animate has become so problematic especially in the newest versions (loading bar for some strokes and no control)
I recorded two demos for my upcoming 2D animation video course on me approaching the same action and beats with different animation approaches. My next demo I'll combine the two on how you can get the best of both worlds. (P.S. I know the sword form is terribad)
I noticed a variety of animators that have a different approach in doing a first pass on full figure/full body animation. I tried doing the recurring ones I see time to time. I'll make a video lecture talking about each of them. What is your approach on animating full figures?
One thing I want to stress out is that credits for animators/artists are important for people applying for visa applications related to entertainment/extraordinary ability. I had to provide screen caps of my name in credits for my various applications to show proof.
More to that
@paramore
's Misery Business animation test. The first shot I animated almost half a year ago. Decided to add a second part. I'm gonna have to leave it alone now. You can tell I got burned out towards the end - but it was a fun learning experience.
Always remember to take a break bro! Here’s a casual short I finished to explore a more limited/ economic workflow, and make really dumb content to have a better relationship with animation. If you like this kind of stuff, lemme know!
back in 2016 I did a 2d anim test for the upcoming Klaus (which is coming out very soon btw). I ended up NOT working for them due to circumstances but honestly I don't think I was good enough to match the quality of animation back then.
I actually kept all my animation work since start of high school. Here is a sample of my work from 2005 9th grade of high school til 2019 (since this is the latest thing I can show legally) Back in the day when it was just flash and newgrounds.
when people/influencers in the industry keep saying you don't need a degree to get a job, and im like "ok but what about internationals who need one for their work visa applications so they can continue to live in the country where their industry is"
I recorded a demo, progress and lecture for my upcoming 2D animation course package. I talk about how arcs can help in solid drawing, favoring, flipping, tracking shapes and basic construction.
animated something for
@gunzu0
's upcoming Norio Matsumoto tribute! This was challenging but fun to do since I dont get to animate in this style as much. thanks for having me on board! PS I dont watch naruto.
Hey guys! I made a new video talking about the importance of holding back on your work (trying to not work at full force 100% all the time). I hope you enjoy it
1/3 General storyboarding thoughts about "cinematic language". I'm going to expand my thoughts on each of these pages, but here's a quick one that lightly touches on a few things.

While I was on Kipo 2 years ago in the early days, I also got to do some animation and rendering tests of Wolf. This was to experiment with the animation style - which had more snappier poses and only one thing moving during the pose, similar to
@RadSechrist
's boarding style.
animated on ipad with roughanimator app. I need to get myself a matte because drawing on that glass isn't to my liking as much.

The chinese-american animated film Wish Dragon, one of my earlier storyboarding gigs is already out in china, and itll come to the US sometime. Resharing this animation I did in photoshop with layer comps) years ago based on an early concept sketch of Long the dragon.
been taking a break from making ambitious "cool" projects and just doing things to heal from art block. been trying to invest more in economic micro projects
You can work your hardest, sacrifice a lot and give a lot of your blood, sweat and tears into something: only for it to not reap the benefits you desire. Sometimes, it's a matter of knowing the right people, being the right person at the right time and place.
Hey all, for those wondering what I've been up to and why I haven't been posting much, I've been commissioned to do a short trailer for
@victoriaying
's upcoming graphic novel called City of Secrets, which comes up June 28. Expect something done before then!
Anim sketchbook page 6. Notes/tips I wrote about favoring and stylized spacing. How that could be useful and implemented for independent/economic hand drawn animation. How do you show something subtly slow in and out with only 5 drawings?
Tied down an animation demo I did a week or two ago for an interview that’s shooting stuff for an upcoming hand drawn animation documentary. Plastic love mariya takeuchi

Animation is a job, and like any job you're going to have to do the work you don't want to do. Even personal projects are a job, you're gonna have to do extra work outside of your discipline and comfort zone. However, its your great peers that make it worthwhile.
My dad has been low key motivating and inspiring me to start an animation production house/sister company in the Philippines. Not to capitalize, but to bring opportunities that people can live off of. Guess I’ll be researching business set ups in the Phils
year of the tiger eh? here's a clip from a short film i had to abandon from a few years ago. going to be traveling for the next 2 months so my productivity is going to lessen
