If you’re a parent, here’s a good rule for tipping. Pretend that server is your own son or daughter. That way you don’t need to tip as much.

@toddmccomas I tip at least 20% everytime. No matter what. You never know what that person has going on. You could be the brightest spot in their day.

@toddmccomas Another way to resolve yourself of any guilt for leaving a less than stellar tip is to imagine before being in the serving business they didnt care about tipping decently. Another thing that helps is just being broke
