6/23 Compare that with the clothing retailer Mr Price in South Africa whose credit sales are only 12.7% of revenue. Those numbers make you wonder if Edgards and Truworths were selling clothes on credit or selling credit for clothes i.e. a bank with a clothing division.

@TrevorNcube @elias_mambo I agree. I also agreed with Strive Masiyiwa when he said ED was sincere. I also believe NC means to leave a positive legacy. Indeed even Robert Mugabe meant the to leave the same. However, thee benchmark should not be what we mean to do but what we actually do.MDC or Zanu PF.

14/23 This is why I think if the environment remains the same where Truworths and Edgars struggle to extend credit they are going to have a tough time. No business model focused on selling clothes without credit can compete with informal traders' selling $20 suits.

3. Jumia has always made huge losses. What saved it in the past was the African growth story. Even in their 2019 IPO prospectus the word "growth" appeared over 100 times e.g. in one section alone Jumia mentions growth 10 times (yellow highlights).

It's interesting how many people think expanding your business outside of Zimbabwe is risky without considering just how risky it is not to expand outside Zimbabwe and diversify your risk. This probably applies not only in business but life overall.
