2024 so far:
- laid off from my job/going full time photography
- sold 70 photobooks
- sold 60 prints
- secured 2 of my dream film cameras
- got my first brand partnership
Q1 has been a time for sure.
this post is for two reasons:
1. more portraits.
2. gear doesn’t matter. period.

So … I made a book. That’s crazy 🤭
“Neighborhood Watch” is a collection of my absolute favorite photos taken - you guessed it! - around my neighborhood. I’m so proud of it.
so tired of being shaded for my preferred camera brand, whether you’re joking or not. let’s be clear: put ANY camera in my hand and I’ll make it work. I CHOOSE to use this one.
my daughter wanted to be my test subject for this roll - “I’m gonna make a lot of faces”. It’s giving range, period 😂

Imagine getting ready, packing your gear, traveling to the shoot, taking the photos (and most likely directing the shoot), traveling home, culling + editing the photos for days …. for ONLY $200. We’re in dark times, man.
It’s mind boggling that women photographers are still left out of photography conversations. especially in film. especially Black women. I don’t like that.
