I’ve never once planted mint in my garden, but last year I grew some in a container on the porch and guess what? There’s mint growing in my garden now, a good 80 feet from the porch. I think this plant is bent on world domination
HOLY MOLY YOU GUYS THAT WAS NOT MY RING. I EVEN TOOK THIS PICTURE AND DIDNT NOTICE. HE USED THIS AS A TRICKSY WAY OF GIVING ME A NEW RING I AM AN IDIOT
The first time my husband ever held my hand I thought it was so nice & masculine the way he just reached for it while walking downtown, but when I bring it up now he's like "yeah you're really spacey & it looked like you were about to wander into traffic, I was afraid for you"
My grandfather just died & you know what my dad reported he was doing on his deathbed? Praying for a woman who asked him to pray for her. You want to talk about a way to go out of this world, that’s the way to go out of this world. What a man.
I know this homeschool family that has twin daughters that just graduated hs and it appears that instead of going to college their parents helped them open a coffee shop and honestly that’s kind of brilliant?
A friend gifted me this book bc one thing I wished had been different w my first was my postpartum food situation and this time I’m hoping to be so much more prepared and nourished 🥹
You hear all this stuff about boy clothes not being as cute as little girl clothes but like…have you seen dinosaur jammies where they have little dino feet? Or a hooded towel that makes them look like a little shark?? I mean come on now
I grew up very innocent and then in grad school I met a guy who said he grew stuff in his closet and I was like, “That’s so cool! What?” and he said “. . .tomatoes 😉.” Anyway he lent me a grow light and I started actually growing tomatoes and cabbages in my closet.
The whole "you don't need a man" ethos is so ingrained in all of us that it took me till 28 years old to realize that a man opening the car door for you isn't a nice gesture, it's to literally *protect* you
@TheFoxMatriarch
I’ve been pretty overwhelmed lately and I mentioned that making breakfast in the morning was starting to feel extra hard and for like 2 weeks now every morning when I come downstairs he has breakfast on the table for me & the 2yo is already fed 🥹
MIL asked me recently what I’m doing that the toddler is so wickedly smart and I was like “honestly it’s all just him” but deep down I was like “the amount of saturated fat (meat, eggs, dairy) this boy eats would horrify you, Sandra”
@DuckieLouise
Saaaaaame. A big part of being married is mutual care- and that means there are times you set yourself aside & just care for your partner. Immediate postpartum is one of those times. This girl doesn’t know what she doesn’t know
One of my best habits as a homemaker is making the day’s dinner whenever I have the chance to, even if that’s like 10AM, rather than waiting until 4 or 5 PM when I risk being already tired and overstimulated
Are all the moms who were extremely crunchy like 2 years ago letting go of a lot of things bc I feel like a lot of us are starting to relax a bit & it feels good
My grandma died this year and my grandpa says that the last few years where they were caring for each other even in sickness (& she couldn’t walk or hardly eat, etc) was the most love they ever felt for each other. This after 60 years of marriage. Aim to finish well, y’all.
Just saw a baby shower idea where you ask everyone to bring a postpartum freezer meal & honestly I hope someone on here will steal that idea bc it is brilliant
Unpopular fashion opinion but I actually love crop tops. I wear them with high waisted midi skirts and my midriff doesn’t show but I don’t have to deal with any weird shirt tucking. They hit the waist just right
Last night I put oatmeal in the crock pot (1c steel cut oats to 4c water) overnight and when we woke up this morning breakfast was hot & ready and honestly 10/10 on a busy Sunday morning
Complaining to my husband that canning pumpkins is hard on a 95/100 degree day while pregnant, I need to sit down, it's hot, etc. and he's like, "You know you don't have to be canning pumpkins" and honestly WHY did God make husbands so reasonable
Nursing the baby when I hear a loud crash in the kitchen and toddler feet running toward me.
“I just ate a whole butter,” he announces.
I guess there goes my butter dish? 😅
You guys. My MIL got saved. My husband has been praying for her for 7 years. It was finally watching his steadfast faith when he went through a major personal crisis last year- & watching God show up through it- that finally convinced her. She was baptized today.
I remember being 15 and dreaming of having a big garden full of flowers and herbs and wearing a big floppy sunhat. Now here I am with a big garden full of flowers and herbs and wearing a big floppy sunhat. Complete w pink ribbon. I am quite literally, as they say, livin the dream
2yo: there’s a plant growing in there!
Me: huh???
2yo: a plant growing in there!!!
….he had put a squash seed in there a while ago and now we’re growing a squash plant in our humidifier
We all know the five love languages, but many forget the lesser known 6th love language exclusive to 2 year old boys: bodyslamming your unsuspecting parent
One day I anticipate my son will be a man of great character and wisdom. Today though he’s 2 and crying because I cut his peanut butter jelly and he “wanted to keep it big”
Update on my super sweet husband trying to take some burden off my shoulders:
He just offered, “If you want, I can make dinner tonight. I can try to make chicken piccata…even though I don’t think we have any piccata?”
Every now and then my husband has to go away for work and trying to sleep without him is the worst thing ever. Like where is the other half of my flesh? Awful. Unnatural. Military wives must have it brutal
Why did my husband just call me like, “Yo what if we get that apple tree you’ve been wanting and plant it out back before the baby comes!?”
Folks I am 3 days past due 😂
Lu how do you keep your marriage so rock solid?
Listen honey take notes. You are doing the most meanwhile our grandmamas showed up like this and had all their bills paid. Lace trim on flannel is a proven winner.

I struggled with OCD in the past & am still staggered that everything I had experienced as pathological has been reframed as healthy and reasonable behavior since Covid. Literally the exact same preoccupations and behaviors. It’s nuts.
I’ve always been extremely thin and pregnancy weight gain would be a lot harder if my husband wasn’t over here literally piling more food on my plate and saying, “you look GREAT, let’s see what you look like 10lbs bigger” 😅
(This tweet was inspired by my husband, who opens car doors for me, and did this one day when a sketchball was being sketch on my side of the car in our alley and I suddenly realized WHY he always does this for me)
When I was in early labor my toddler requested I read “Love You Forever” (the book where the mom repeats “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be” her son’s whole life till she dies & he says it to his new baby) and y’all the TEARS
Last week on vacation my SIL’s pregnant friend joined us and brought 2 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts and I was like “from one preg woman to another, thank you” and she was like, “oh I don’t eat bread or sugar or anything like that. I actually had an apple on the way” and it was just
Am I a nursing mother who can’t wear dresses bc it’s hard to nurse in them? Yes. Am I going to wear a sweater dress for thanksgiving anyway bc it feels festive? Also yes
Sometimes when toddler & I are playing & he gets too rough I say “I don’t like that” & we stop the thing that’s crossing a line. Husband & I were just playing w him & he said loud & clear “I don’t like that!” about something he wasn’t ok with & that feels like such a parenting W
@BasedZillenial
My chiropractor was telling me her 8th grader shared with her that all the kids at school talk about is the various acts they’ve done with each other. 8th graders!
Husband isn’t home for dinner tonight so the 2yo and I are huddled over a big serving bowl full of pulled pork and just eating out of it like a pair of goblins
I fell on the stairs a year ago while pregnant & have spent the last year ignoring the fact that I have pain every time I’m sitting down. Finally got an x-ray and turns out I literally fractured my tailbone & it didn’t really heal right 🙃🙃🙃
I get really sensitive postpartum & I briefly started crying last Sunday during church & this one sweet old lady came up to me and asked if I’m okay. She’s in bad health herself but she just sent me a card in the mail to tell me she’s praying for me??? Brb crying
Just ate gushers for the first time since I was a kid and it straight up doesn’t even taste like food. How I was eating this stuff as a kid is beyond me
I see y’all posting about listening to Christmas music but like…my garden is still giving me tomatoes??? How can I be jingling bells when we’re still picking banana peppers?
In this house we don’t call it “oatmeal”, we call it “oamteal” bc that’s our toddler’s last standing adorable mispronunciation and we’re holding onto it as long as we can
I was feeling really down today & my husband, without even knowing how I was feeling, came home with all this. I do not deserve this man.
He said God nudged him to go look at flowers and wine for me today 🥹💘
