My husband randomly comes to give me hugs and forehead kisses while I’m working throughout the day. And you want me to come back to the office? I will fight somebody.
Thailand is an affordable country to visit, the dollar really goes a long way. Even though flight tickets are off-putting, when you get there the cost lowers incredibly. $4 full course authentic Thai meals, $5 massages, $20 per night luxury hotels. Truly worth the visit.
I’m in awe of people who start anything. Literally anything. A new blog. A small business. A podcast. A video series. A newsletter. Starting is never easy. They are heros in my eyes.
September 13th.
Last year: Solo trip to Costa Rica
This year: Solo trip to Thailand
What a coincidence.
I think I’ll make Solo Travel September an annual affair. It’s the best thing ever. ❤️
I read somewhere that Black employees are a lot happier with WFH as they can now avoid the daily micro aggressions of being in a physical office. And I felt that.
One week ago. ❤️
Married my best friend in the beautiful Santorini, Greece in the presence of my closest family and friends. Thankful to God for making this day beyond incredible.
I stayed in a bubble hotel in Wadi Rum, Jordan. The hotel is mostly made of bubbles (giant balloons) smack in the middle of the desert. You can watch the sun set and rise from here. A truly incredible experience. ✨
Hotel: Bubble Luxotel Wadi Rum
I recommend everyone. Single. Married. Situationship. Kids. No kids. Anybody. To take a solo trip at least once in their life. Truly life-changing stuff.
You can go to Barbados visa-free with a Nigerian passport. The beaches are beyond beautiful. Here are some unfiltered photos from my beach walk earlier.
To everyone who wants to travel in 2019, here’s a thread of some of my travel finds, favorite websites & hacks that have helped me travel to 35 countries & counting.
I want to tell you about an unforgettable moment I experienced in Cartagena, Colombia. As I was strolling down the street, a woman caught my eye and immediately she saw me, her face lit up with excitement.
Woke up in my 40TH country (Brazil). Celebrating every milestone & this incredible travel journey. So thankful for the privilege to travel, see the world, make memories, learn, grow. And share with you all! SWIPE LEFT to see all the countries visited so far. Anyone on your list?
Marriage is such a big ask. You’re asking two people from different backgrounds, who grew up with different sets of conditioning, beliefs & values to come together as one & live together - forever.
Things I wish existed:
- A mini washer and dryer for your underwear only.
- Luggage that comes with an inbuilt weight calculator.
- Being able to select the time in the month that works for you to get your period.🩸
- A robot vacuum that also has the ability to mop.
Celebrated my 30th country in Japan the other day. Swipe left to see all 30 countries I’ve been blessed to visit. Looking forward to seeing more of the world, God willing. Do you see a country on your bucket list?
“We are pleased to inform you...”
“Congratulations!”
“You’ve been approved!”
“You’ve been selected!”
“Good news!”
I speak life into my year and massive success for self, friends and family.
Last week, I didn’t know how to pray so I worshipped instead. This week, I’ve been talking to God more but can’t get myself to study the bible. Christianity is in waves and God wants us to come as we are. He’ll always meet us where we are.
I think it's important to know the difference between being nice and being kind. I don't consider myself nice - nice people typically have weak boundaries & are people-pleasers. Kind people are firm, truthful, have established boundaries and empathy. There's a stark difference.
Once the pandemic is behind us, if you can, I want you to travel as far and wide as you can. It’s truly one of the best gifts in life, ever. Truly beautiful and life-changing. Please, treat as urgent.
Can’t believe I took this photo myself. One of the beauties of solo travel is you quickly learn how to be independent and thrive all by yourself. Needed a photo, found a way to get it done.
If you were applying for a visa and need to submit a flight ticket as a supporting document but do not want to buy your ticket without getting the visa, do you know what to do?
In 2022, we’re traveling to places we only once imagined. We’re discovering new cities and learning new cultures and eating new food and making new friends and learning new languages and catching epic sunsets and sunrises. ✨
Applicant tracking systems (ATS) are the worst. I recommend using to compare your resume to the job posting. It’s free and lets you know if you stand a chance with the ATS.
2024 will look like:
A healthy mind, body and soul 🍃
An abundant bank account 💰
Exciting travel adventures ✈️
Wholesome love 💕
Wholesome friendships 🌸
Big ideas 💡
Childlike hobbies 🎨
A flourishing career 💼
A blossoming relationship with God 🙏🏾
God bless everyone going out to protest even in the rain. The least we can do online is continue to trend the
#EndSWAT
hashtag and create more awareness.
I’ve been invited for an interview at Canada’s biggest TV news channel to talk about travel. Shitting my pants & so nervous. I’ll be sat with a news correspondent that I’ve watched for years. The nerves are flying.
With a cheerful voice, she exclaimed “my color”, referring to the fact that we both share similar skin tones. This moment was incredibly special and reminded me the importance of representation and how powerful it is to see oneself reflected in the world.
Last week, I hit an incredible milestone for my travel blog. Six figures in revenue from my blog alone in the past year (not counting a whole year in a pandemic). Brand partnerships not included too. I’m so freaking proud of myself.
Some news:
Signed my contract a few weeks ago. ✍🏽 It’s official. I’m ending the year as an ambassador for
@Expedia
. Excited for this long-term partnership and I can’t wait to show you everything we have planned for the year 2023.
