UPDATE: Interim deputy chief Chris Rozman has confirmed that the shooter has died of a self inflicted wound. The shelter in place order has been lifted and there is no longer a threat on campus.

Arielle Anderson and Alexandria Verner received posthumous degrees in the College of Natural Science commencement ceremony on May 6. Families of the two students who died in the mass shooting on campus this semester accepted the degrees on their behalf.

Verner was a biology junior. She played volleyball, basketball and softball.
Fraser was a business sophomore and the Chapter President of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity at MSU.

UPDATE: MSU Police and Public Safety have confirmed at a media press conference that the suspect is still at large. They ask that the MSU community shelter in place and that no one come to campus.
“I think that MSU needs to fire him,” student packaging junior Alex Mirabitur said. “If the MSU athletic department only suspends him, I think we as students need to boycott the football games.”
MSU basketball player Mady Sissoko used his NIL earnings to help build a school in his African home village. Named the Mady Sissoko Foundation School, the school has granted hundreds of children easy access to education and plans to expand further.
Students arrived on campus on Feb. 14, 2023, bouquets in hand - but the flowers weren’t for their valentines. Instead, they were for Brian Fraser, Alexandria Verner and Arielle Anderson.

One student who was critically injured after last week’s mass shooting at MSU was discharged from Sparrow Hospital after previously being in ‘serious but stable’ condition this morning, Sparrow Hospital Spokesperson Corey Alexander confirmed.
