An important part of SF6 is no footsies just straight cheese strats. You must mutually establish they don’t work to have a ball game. Think of StarCraft, even at the top level you’re gonna eat the zerglings/helions/oracles in your mineral line. Prove your defence or quick ggs.

Capcom's success with SF6 is great for the FGC. Aside from balance changes competitive players want, the intention behind SF6 was deep, expressive gameplay, high quality netcode, and a heavily $ supported competitive scene. Other developers are watching. Vote with your wallets!

New ELO system looks like it prioritizes skill matching, I tend to get people closer to my ELO as I play. I’m also noticing a lot of angry master ranks that dipped below 1500.

Normal-specific spacing, deeper knowledge of hit/hurtboxes and matchups, risk-reward and win condition thinking only really exists at the highest level, and that’s where it gets really tough. A time will come where that will be the minimum. I have been through DotA that 100x’d.

The fascination with tier lists will never change, but there’s been an especially unhealthy focus lately. The meta is also to argue in bad faith (downplaying). SF6 is balanced, ignore the noise. If you are getting jumped on and DI’d it will never matter what character you play.
