With Alabama landing Jordan Bruner: The Tide should be among the SEC’s best next season. The backcourt is loaded, and Bruner adds experience and versatility in the frontcourt. Conference should be strong at the top, but Nate Oats has a roster that can compete with anyone.

Auburn holds on for the overtime win against Alabama. I’ve seen the KenPom stat about the Tigers’ luck rating and all that, but at some point, being 22-2 is about more than just luck. These dudes just refuse to lose and that’s a mindset that could lead to big things in March.

As for Alabama: The only disappointment Tide fans should have is that they lost because that was a hell of a performance from Nate Oats’ group. Herbert Jones playing through injury, Jaden Shackelford making clutch shots on the road, 22 made 3-pointers, etc. Big game vs. LSU.

Quick thoughts on Nate Oats: My goodness was Buffalo fun to watch during his tenure. Ranked in the top five in average offensive possession length the past two seasons. Bulls were 5th nationally in points per game this season. Entertaining style without question.

Three years ago, Auburn was entering the offseason on the heels of its seventh straight losing season. Since then, the Tigers have an SEC regular season title, tournament title, and Sweet 16 appearance. And if they play like that, it will be more. Pretty incredible turnaround.

Auburn earns a nice victory at South Alabama. It wasn’t pretty, but Issac Okoro decided that losing wasn’t an option. In a league where preseason favorites have had disappointing performances, Bruce Pearl’s team is 3-0 with wins over the Sun Belt favorite and an A10 favorite.

Missouri defeats Tennessee to advance to the SEC Tournament semis. So many clutch plays from Kobe Brown, D'Moi Hodge, and Nick Honor. Those dudes were warriors. Next up is a showdown with Alabama. Winner plays for a championship.

If you’re still concerned about Nate Oats’ ability to recruit in the SEC, I’m not sure what to tell you. He’s now brought back Kira Lewis and John Petty while also making strides with Trendon Watford. Tide could be fun to watch next season.
