Derry City are now unbeaten in 14 league games going back to last season.
The last time they went 14 league games unbeaten was back in 2011 under Stephen Kenny.
That team included Danny Lafferty, Shane McEleney, Patrick McEleney and Ruaidhri Higgins.
Good news for Derry City fans. It is understood that midfielder Sadou Diallo has signed a new two-year deal to stay at the Brandywell. The club should be making the announcement in the next day or two.
Amazing performance from
@BrianOgs
Derry, Ulster, now Ireland - and a huge win which didn't flatter them at all. Trim had won 20 in a row before today. They were dominated, even against 14 men.
Brilliant for Steelstown, brilliant for Derry!
This is a great picture.
@OrlaghMullan
travels anywhere and everywhere because she absolutely loves gaelic. She was a tad poorly today but nothing was stopping her getting to Croke Park. The best journalist I've been lucky to work with in all my many years.

I don't think you'll see a better goalkeeping performance than Brian Maher's at Dundalk last night. He was absolutely incredible.
It wasn't just the quantity of saves, but the quality of his saves.
Dundalk fans around me were just shaking their heads in disbelief. What a talent.
FT - St. Patrick's Athletic 0-4 Derry City
It's Derry City's biggest win over St. Pat's since beating them 5-1 at the Brandywell in December 1995.
A superb showing from Ruaidhri Higgins' team, again.
Before Ben Doherty's goal last night, Derry City had missed three of their last four penalties at the Brandywell.
Ben now has 3 goals and 5 assists this season, playing a direct part in 8 of Derry City's 18 league goals.
Declan Devine's last words on Tuesday night....'I wish I had played the young boys last season. The players we brought in last year did nothing for the club....I wish I had played the young boys...'
Hard to take tonight but what a Herculean effort from Derry City players against Dundalk. The Brandywell hasn't been bouncing like that in years.
@Declandevine1
has brought pride back to our local football team.
What a season...
36 appearances
7 goals, 1 assist

Eoin Toal's time at Derry City
A THREAD ...
2017
Signed by Kenny Shiels alongside Jamie McIntyre and Darren Cole, 18-year-old Eoin made his debut against Finn Harps. That was just one of three appearances in his debut season.
"He was my soul mate, someone who knew me better than I knew myself. He was just totally humble, and just a really good guy. God hasn’t made another person like him."

Book launch tonight, City Hotel, 7:30pm.
Everyone welcome.
Pat Hoban is the first Derry City player to score six goals in the first five games of a Premier Division season since Owen Da Gama in 1987/88.
Elite company.
A timely reminder of what football can bring to a family, a community and a city.
@derrycityfc
is a club like no other. That was a very emotional watch.
I feel it would only be right if we go out and stuff Dundalk now, and dedicate the win to the manhole cover in the cemetery.
“I probably didn’t expect to have as much of an emotional connection as I do - to leave Derry and genuinely think, ‘I loved it there’. Now I’ll be watching every game on Friday thinking ‘Please win’.

The last time Derry City beat Dundalk at the Brandywell in October, 2012:
- Ruaidhri Higgins played in midfield for Derry
- Patrick McEleney scored for Derry
- Michael Duffy was a Derry substitute
- Mark Farren and Ryan McBride were both unused substitutes.
DERRY CITY HAVE DONE IT! They have beaten KuPS 5-4 on aggregate! Michael Duffy's goal has sent the Candystripes through after an incredible and courageous performance in Finland!
Declan Devine straight to the point as he is unveiled as Derry City manager...
"We need an identity, we need passion, we need players who are going to respect and honour what it means to play for Derry City."
Ruaidhri Higgins was appointed Derry City manager 2 years ago today.
He has been in charge for 87 games (136 goals), with a record of 44 wins, 26 draws and 17 defeats.
From last place to European qualification to winning the FAI Cup, it's been quite a time for City fans already.
Derry City have won 1-0! A huge, huge, HUGE win for Ruaidhri Higgins' team.
Unfortunately, some of the players - Forrester, Graydon and Barry Cotter included have ensured this game is ending on a bad note.
Players being separated everywhere.
See tomorrow's Derry News for a slightly over the top 32-PAGE FAI Cup Final Derry City special 🔴⚪⚫
Sure if you can't celebrate getting to a final....🥳🎉🎂
It was a big day for Cameron McJannet yesterday, as he not only celebrated his birthday, but he became the first Derry City player to make 100 appearances under Ruaidhri Higgins.
A lot of issues for Dundalk still to resolve as they return to pre-season training today. Hopefully many will be but not the ideal way to start back for 2024 with so many question marks over the squad
Here's the stat you were all looking for... (all four of you)
September 27, 1987
The last time a Derry City player scored a hat trick against Cork City.
Johnny Speak in a 7-2 win at the Brandywell.
Junior - redefining penalties and rewriting history.
Shamrock Rovers have NEVER beaten Derry City in the FAI Cup. The two teams have met 7 times over the years. There's been FIVE Derry City wins and two draws...
Bohs will be sick but what a win that is for Derry City. Ruaidhri Higgins deserves great credit for the second half substitutions which brought his team back into the game.
There are few things better in life than an injury time winner!
The end of an amazing season and it couldn't have been better. Today was incredible. The perfect cup final performance from Derry City and the 10-year wait is over. It would bring a tear to a glass eye, even
@LiveatOriel
's....
@JMcG_96
is the first
@derrycityfc
player to score in four successive league games since Mark Farren back in 2010.
The last - ONLY - Derry City player to score in five successive league games was Alex Krstic, back in January 1987.
That's how I spent my afternoon...
Last night was only the fourth time that Derry City scored at least three goals away from home in Europe.
1965/66
FK Lyn 5-3 Derry City
2006
Gretna 1-5 Derry City
2014

Will Patching and Michael Duffy are the only players in the country to score in every competition this season.
-The President's Cup, League, FAI Cup and the Europa League
Declan Devine has managed 4 full seasons in the LOI.
He has finished 5th, 4th, 4th and 7th, qualifying for Europe 3 times. He reached 3 cup finals (Setanta, FAI, League Cup), winning 1 trophy (FAI Cup, 2012).
In 159 games in charge of Derry City, he won 67, scoring 243 goals.
Last night's win over St. Patrick's Athletic took Derry City onto 14 points from six games, which represents their best start to a new season since 2009.
The controversy over Rovers' goal aside, Nathan Gartside was immense yesterday for
@derrycityfc
. He's really stepped up in the past few weeks with some massive saves.
A sad day for local journalism as The Godfather bows out. Hard to fathom not being absolutely tortured on my deadline day from now on but I'm sure he'll still find a way.
No man has been more supportive to me in my career, but don't tell him that.

Derry City's Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe has...
7 goals in his last 7 league games
Taking him to 9 goals and 8 assists overall...
Someone should nominate him for Player of the Month or something...
Ollie O'Neill will end his time with Derry City after Friday night's game with Bohemians. He will return to Fulham with his loan spell completed.
He has made 18 appearances and scored one goal.
'Football is there to be enjoyed and I suppose I lost that when managing Derry, it became a chore.’’
Fascinating read with Derry City legend Peter Hutton on his time as manager of Derry City, and what he regrets most about that time...
Congratulations to

Derry City cruising in Dublin thanks to goals from Danny Mullen, Will Patching and Brandon Kavanagh.
Notably.....

This is his 13th appearance for Derry City and that's 7 assists already - an incredible return.

"He was our first defender, our first line of attack who chased down every lost cause. He was prolific, he was quick, he was dynamic, he was skillful, he was inventive and he could score all types of goals."

'The Love of the Game'... AVAILABLE SOON.
A quick check back would suggest that Declan Glass is the first Derry City player to score a first half hat trick since Ally Roy against Blarney in the FAI Cup in August 2018.
Johnny Speak also did it against Cork City back in 1987...
