There weren't many signs that VCU was going to be looking for a coach this offseason but they were ready at the drop of a hat to make an offer for the best option in the market. VCU's athletic department operates as arguably the best mid-major in the country.

VCU will be hiring Utah State coach Ryan Odom, sources told CBS Sports. A deal is not yet done, but the transition is not expected to take long. VCU athletic director Ed McLaughlin has a longstanding relationship with Odom and, per sources, made overtures earlier this week.

A monster win for George Mason at Dayton, one of the hardest places to win at in the A10. The Flyers are 78-19 at home since the 2010-11 season. At 12-8 (6-1), George Mason is not only a threat for a double bye, but the A10 regular season title.
