My first takes on the changes to Vintage Cube in a 🧵. Rating scale is from 1 (I disapprove) to 5 (I approve). Yorion > Soulherder - 4 - Soulherder seems like an interesting card, yorion was playable but quite underpowered. I don't mind this at all. 🧵typing live as I go:

These arena qualifiers almost feel like PTs: Arne loses to Tangrams. Tangrams loses to Shota. Shota loses to Jaberwocki. only like 14-15 players qualify via getting 7 wins in day 2 because the structure is so difficult (87.5% winrate required over two 8 round tournaments).

Paper magic is not related to MTGO imo. Modo is more popular than ever because of how bad arena is managed and how great of a job daybreak is doing despite the lack of invites etc. allocated by wotc. Also 10-15% of the field is probably swapping QPs for 6 boosters of product.

5 'Realistic' things I would change with MTG Arena: #1 Tournaments. I would add Daily Events with a big one EVERY weekend or maybe even 2 per weekend. Even if I spend a week or two to learn to play Alchemy or Historic then its 1 weekend and I dont play it again for 3 months.

Probably my deck for the NRG and Arena PTQ tomorrow. Tried many things, nothing impressed. UW, Phoenix and Food are the tier 1 decks. A lot of tier 2 decks exist though which have favorable matchups vs some of the top decks. Chose the one I enjoy and know most. @fireshoes

2nd in Standard Showcase, 5-2 on arena. In general I think this deck is quite good in the metagame right now and unlike Worlds its way easier to win if you dont have to care about how much time your opponents are using and can basically always play out 3 games till the winner.

8-0 Swiss, lost QF of @GamingStadiumCS 2k. This deck is solid. Clear shot, don't play it if you don't want to but it's a fine card, i think the level between that and inscription is quite similar. I like full 8 man lands and please play 4 wrenn, it's too good not to.

@RodneyBedell Thats a pretty random take. Worlds should be where we see people play the best possible magic with the best possible deck. Honestly wotc should just give people the decks they submit for the tournament. Not even having vendors on thursday at player registration is pretty sad.

@kanister_mtg The problem for me is that they did not randomize their deck and that should be with a penalty.

Finally got the big Trophy, now I can retire from cube until after Worlds! Both decks were great, the 5c deck that I got in the 2nd draft was obviously way more fun! 🙈
