@mrjamesob I'm nearly 34 and when I was in school letters home were always addressed to 'parent or guardian' - I always guessed it was to accommodate those living with other relatives for whatever reason.

Love how, when I tweet in Shetland dialect, folk mocking me for it sneer at the fact that I won a writing award and question how when I can't 'write properly'. Doesn't occur to them that the award came from a Scottish organisation and that I got it for writing in Scots.
