. Mostly Thai BL. writes a lot of canon-typical dubcon. no minors.
If you are not capable of consuming content critically and understanding that dark fictional content should not be imitated or used as the basis for your morality, then you are not mature enough to consume that content.
“Shipping means you think it’d be a good idea in real life/you want it to be canon” are actually relatively new ideas in fandom. in my childhood we would have dropped dead of shock if some ships became canon. Sometimes we shipped people who’d never met and would hate each other.
Sometimes we like things because we think they’d be fun to explore, not because we think they’re a good idea. I have had ships of mine become canon and been MAD about it because I don’t think it was done well or don’t think it was a good idea for the source material.
There’s nothing I love more about fanfic than that one person can just say to another person, with a STRAIGHT FACE, “your life is out of control and I think the correct solution is if we spontaneously begin a BDSM lifestyle together.”

I distinctly remember reading something like “you should own however many books it brings you joy to own. For some people that’s three. For other people it’s 100.” But everyone acts like she wants you to live in three shirts and one pair of slacks or else you failed.
Yes, of course people can be misled by fiction and that’s why propaganda works but A) propaganda works in tandem with already-held beliefs and/or is presented as nonfiction by a supposedly “trustworthy” source (like the government)
One thing I’ve noticed is these thoughts tend to go hand in hand with ship wars. “If you like X/Y, you must want it to be canon and therefor hate X/Z since they can’t BOTH be canon.”
That’s not how it works and multishippers exist.
(Also why can’t we make everyone poly? :p)
And B) if people are misled by fiction because they are very young/teenagers, then they are not yet able to consume media critically, and therefor fall under my first tweet.
Friendly reminder that using porn to “own the antis” or to make them uncomfortable by showing them sexual content they hate is sexual harassment. We do not get to sexually harass people just because they are mean to us. That’s fucked up. Don’t do it. I will report you.

Am a hairstylist and I can confirm I spent 8 hours a day, five days a week, for nine months learning my trade. I literally spent ten times longer on prom hair than cops spend on conflict management and mediation.
I cannot stress enough that if you are a queer person who thinks we should desexualize pride to win over homophobes, what you are saying is that you should have to censor yourself in order to earn the approval of ppl who will ONLY support you if you act exactly as they want.

Killed or greviously injured depending on which take seems most likely to get an Oscar nomination for White Cop Tears.
Then the cop will quit his job to protest then be offered Even Better Cop Job later, because of his Activism. (This job will be offered by a black man)

My favorite kind of response is the one that goes “this was perfectly reasonable until OP turned out to be into problematic stuff” because I just sit here wondering what kind of “dark fictional content” YOU thought I was talking about.
What if we all just stopped taking bullying antishippers seriously? Like, every time they showed up either ignored them or openly laughed. Some of the things they say are patently ridiculous and maybe if we all treat them like the edgelords they are, it’ll die down.
“If we aren’t picture perfect queers the cishets won’t like us!”
If a cishet person doesn’t like me unless I conform to their ideal, I don’t want their fucking love. I am not here to appease our homophobic overlords.

Imagine being the exact sort of person this tweet is about, finding it, and retweeting it with absolutely zero self-awareness.
ITS OKAY TO NOT LIKE THINGS. YOU DON’T HAVE TO MAKE A WHOLE THING ABOUT IT.
