Best of luck and safe travels to our resident superstar
@jacko_kennedy
as he heads off for a tour of duty with the Defence Forces. He usually comes back from Lanzarote a better footballer so we can only imagine what 6 months in the Leb will do to his game 🇺🇦🇮🇪🏐
Let’s round off the weekend with a look at the goal that finally secured us the Junior “A” Championship, watch until the end for what is now known as the “Toolah” celebration 🇺🇦
Hurling is struggling at underage in our area but Phil O'Callaghan Jnr aged 4 roll lifts 13 times in 30 seconds!
@Carlow_GAA
with a few more like him there is hope 🇺🇦
(Full St Pat's kit available for u6s for €20!)
The club would like to thank Mick Kehoe
@KehoeYah
for his work over the last 5 years , while the roll of honour will say a Junior “A” championship , the culture change achieved in that time will have a longer, lasting impact 🔵🟡🏐
We are proud to show you our mental health slogan at Br. Leo Park Tullow by Paul Byrne in association with
@Carlow_Co_Co
and Mensana Fest. We also thank all those who donated to the GoFundMe and we look forward to making a donation to
@PietaHouse
in the coming weeks!
Superb effort from these young lads this morning , battling back from 2 points down at half time to win by 1,sending us to our first Minor A final in 30 years. 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
2 Gardai.. 2 Soldiers! 4
@Carlow_GAA
men playing in Croker Park tonight. Well done to our own
@jacko_kennedy
who came off the bench to score and help the Defence Forces to a 1 point victory over the Garda side on 0-18 to 1-14.

Clonmore GFC is in mourning following the death of one of our finest young players Eoin Byrne today. Eoin was centre-forward on our 2017 MFC winning team & played for our U19s last Friday The club extends deepest sympathy to the Byrne & McCarney families. May Eoin Rest in Peace.
Our deepest sympathy to the O'Neill family on the passing of Bernie O'Neill. Bernie's husband, Mick, is our club secretary, Allan plays hurling & football while Deirdre is involved with

Thanks to

for postponing games.

Our new Referees changing room , away from the players changing room, our referees are as vital to our games as anyone, give respect , get respect 🇮🇪🇬🇳
@Carlow_GAA
Disgraceful from Leinster LGFA. No matter whether the Carlow ladies winners were to compete at provincial Junior or Intermediate level; it's Leinster LGFA who are at fault. Throwing them out when they reach the final is a disgrace.
The afternoon ends in defeat on a scoreline of 1-11 to 1-07 , a superb effort from our lads who just fall short, they didn’t lack for effort , nor humility in defeat , a credit to their club and families 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
Well done to
@defenceforces
on beating
@bankofireland
today in Abbotstown on a score of 2-12 to 2-10 and our own
@jacko_kennedy
on receiving the MOTM award kicking 4 points! Pictured also Comdt Ian Kilbride(Roscommon) receiving the trophy from Chairman DF Football!
@Carlow_GAA
In the 1960s the National Bank in Tullow was knocked and rebuilt, the rubble was subsequently used as a viewing bank in our own Br Leo Park. It was discovered in 2010 when Tommy Dwyer was digging out our Hurling Wall!!! The club decided to incorporate it permanently into.......
Craig Staunton (Full Forward). What a footballer. Oozes talent and quality. Deceptively quick and possess a Dalglish like ability to shrug defenders off with his arse. Most importantly he knows where the goal is. Also, Seems to fall over on video in work a lot for some reason
Good win in SFL DIV2 this evening against
@FightingCocksGF
0-18 to 2-10 . We trailed by 4 at the break but kept the score board ticking over throughout the second half to edge the win. 0-14 from
@jacko_kennedy
a standout , he loves it when the sun shines
Well done to two of our footballers ,Eoghan Cleary and Stephen Metcalfe who won the Connacht Junior Football title with NUIG in the Connacht centre of Excellence, Medi even managed to get the Tullow shorts out 🟡🔵
Best of luck to
@jacko_kennedy
who plays in Croker Park again tomorrow!
The most appearances at GAA HQ of any St Patrick's player this century... not sure about Sean Nolan, The Buller etc. back in the day??
Well done lads, we are all behind ye on Sunday. Great year for your club and hats off to your Chairman Mark Carpenter, one of the best players Carlow has ever seen.
Carlow intermediate champions 2019🏆 Leinster championship first round less than 48 hours later 🤷♂️ let’s go again,

what do you think of that

Hard luck to our u17s tonight in the Minor A Semi Final losing by just a point. We wish ye well in the final

In the lead up to our Championship final on Saturday 31st if July we will be introducing you to some of our panel members we hope will (finally) take us back to Intermediate level 🇺🇦🇺🇦
Awful conditions and a penalty lottery but we'll take the win and look forward to the final on Friday 730pm v
@Tinryland_GFC
. Thanks to
@Grange_GAA
for a supporting game, hard way to lose it for them.
The death has occurred of St Patrick's and Carlow Legend Sean Nolan.
"Big Sean" was a true giant of the game of Gaelic Football in every sense and is well known throughout the country.

Game day , our Minors take on
@Eireogcarlow
in the A Championship final today in Netwatch Cullen Park at 2pm. Get along and support the lads if you can . We will have updates throughout the game . 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
The passing has occurred of one of
@Carlow_GAA
greatest ever dual players. Pat Brophy is one of the best ever players from our club, our thoughts are with his family.
Funeral details to follow. RIP.
Well done to
@Grange_GAA
on their win tonight against us. Great to see so many clubs sharing details of games in
@Carlow_GAA
Well done also to
@patratchet
and Niamh Bailey on the commentary! We are all the Gaa Family! 🤝🇺🇦
Darren Walsh (Halfback) Only returning to football since underage last year , Darren has been excellent for our Junior C side, forcing his way into the “A” panel. Fully committed with whatever he does, be it in training or a night out , Darren will be there no bother. Sound man
The legendary Brother Nicholas back in Tullow today receiving an award at the Tullow Marathon Runners presentation event in the Town Hall. Almost 40 years since he left Tullow. A great man 🇺🇦👏💪
Jack Kennedy (half forward) Every club has a superstar and we have Jacko! Jack has it all and racks up some phenomenal scoring totals. Not the kind of player you will see in a pub with a pint in his hand , not because he’s a model pro, he’s just more of a gin and lemon lad 💁♀️
Paul Canavan (Sub Keeper) A top quality outfield player himself, Pookie has been superb when needed in goal this year. Strikes a cracking ball and it will be worth the admission on Saturday just to see him pinging balls about at half time , a good lad to have around the panel
We came out on top tonight in the final of the Bro Leo Tournament , defeating
@OfficialMaudGFC
on a score line of 2-11 to 0-11 in an excellent game , played in wet conditions 🔵🟡
Dylan Hanley (half back). Another one who has really stepped up since leaving minor last year. Quick, strong and brilliant with the ball at his feet or in his hands, he’s gonna be some player when he realises how good he is!!
Shane Rohan (full back).Not a bad last line of defence! Shano has bags of experience and uses it well, strong in the tackle and uses the ball well , not the type of fella you want to run into. However, if you did want to run into him, Derreen or Tully’s might be your best bet
A good win tonight tonight to round off our SFL Div 2 campaign , defeating
@GaaEoin
1-9 to 0-10. Brian Byrne with the all important goal . Special mention for David Orbinski with a composed performance when deputising in goal . 🇺🇦🇺🇦
Lee Kavanagh (fullback). Some captains lead with words, Kav leads by example. A quiet fella on the field (you are more likely to hear his Da Gerry on the sideline), he does the simple things brilliantly, the kind of corner back you hate marking. Sound fella sound footballer
Disappointing end to the year as we just fell short this evening , important to remember what a successful few months it has been for the lads , winning Junior A and establishing ourselves at Intermediate level , thanks to Mick and the lads for an excellent summers football 🇺🇦🇺🇦
Dylan Gorman-Comerford (Versatile). In his first championship since leaving minor Dylan has done brilliantly. Strong and an excellent carrier of the ball and reads the game well (which he gets from his Da) , but thankfully he got the talent from the Gorman side!
Padraig Murphy (Versatile) Works just as hard for the club off the field as on it , Murph was a playing in our last championship success 17 years ago and is still as important today , which is no mean achievement considering he must be at least 44
A little bit of nostalgia in the build up to our Minor A final this weekend , going back 35 years to the last time ourselves and
@Eireogcarlow
met in the decider
Brian Byrne (Corner Forward) Easily the best striker of a dead ball I’ve seen in Bro. Leo Park. Technically Brian is as good as they come, and I reckon he’s more comfortable with the ball at his feet than his hands! Last min of a big game and you have a 1 on 1, Brian is your man
Pictured completing the James Griffin Br Leo 5k all the way from South Lebanon is Shane Stafford, Jack Kennedy, Danny Byrne and Pat Byrne.
Well done lads and reminder to everyone to sign up online or come over to the club this evening at 630pm to register for the 7pm start!
TJ Kavanagh (Half Forward). Cracking footballer! Absolute wand of a left boot, kicks the easy scores as well as the screamers. T is the Player most likely to try nutmeg someone in the final , and the least likely to track back !!!
Our U13s won 🏆 their Div 2 County final 2.4 to 0.8 this morning v Kil Dav.
Conceded 5 points in a row then scored goal in injury time to win by 2 points! Go on the lads 🇺🇦
Conor Murphy (corner back) . Still yet to meet anyone that loves a tackle as much as Murphy! A proper old school corner back, only interested in stopping his man scoring , well that and bailing hay, loves bailing hay
The

JAFC Rd 2 between ourselves and our neighbours
@Grange_GAA
will be steamed live on Sat at 6pm with both clubs coming together to offer this game for free for supporters! Link for game to be given via Facebook later in week 🤝
And while he is quite a smart footballer , it was Brian Byrne not Brain who scored , apologies our intern
@padraigjmurphy
was in charge of score updates last night and got over excited 🇺🇦🇺🇦

Mick Keogh (Manager/Coach) Mick has brought a culture , mindset and level of professionalism to the side that will continue to run through the club regardless of how this championship or the next goes. Dislikes include championship structures and Jordan Henderson !!!
James Tobin (keeper) . They say you have to be mad to be a goalkeeper but “Shad” might take that too far!!! Calm and composed with his restarts , Shad shows how hard work on the training field pays benefits
Eoin Cleary (Defender) Eoin is certainly someone you will see on Tullow teams of the future , great hands and a smart footballer . The photo isn’t that recent However , possibly taken around Christmas time
Allan O’ Neill (Defender) They don’t come any more laid back than Screw. Easily the best reader of a ball in the club, a cool head which helps the young lads around him.Some lads worry about losing pace at 34, Screw never had it so he’s as good as ever . He talks ,the lads listen
Niall Gahan (defender) Another one with a big future ahead of him, a corner back with bags of talent , He played a big role in us reaching this final with some excellent performances in the championship before Christmas
Eoin O’ Toole (corner forward) On the go over 15 years now and still as influential as ever. You know what Toolah is gonna do when he gets the ball but still you can’t stop it!!Always has an influence on the outcome of a game and Saturday will be no different. Loves a speech too
Stephen Metcalfe (Versatile). Carlow U20 panellist who has been superb throughout the Championship campaign , “scored” one of the best points that never was in the semi final against Grange. Will be part of good Tullow teams for years to come
Ronan Byrne (halfback). A recent convert to GAA after tiring of being dropped by successive Parkville managers. Ronan has shone and become a leader in the side over the last few seasons. A good man to have on your side, not a good man to share the back of a taxi with 🤢
Will Doran (Midfield) Self proclaimed “best looking fella in Tullow”. A serious presence in midfield ,not much Will can’t do ,kicks scores, fields high ball and can put in a tackle. Still finds time to socialise between work ,training and taking distant Instagram selfies, top man
Cathal Murray (Corner Forward) Been producing consistent performances for our Junior C and A teams over the last few years (as well as for the hurlers) , clutch in front of goal and you would always fancy Murr to put a peno away if the need arises
Well done to Dylan Gorman-comerford Stephen Metcalfe, Brian Byrne and Craig Stauton on being nominated for a Carlow Senior Schools Football All-Star award! Winners announced next week! 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦👏👏👏👏
Jack O’Neill (Foward) Not eligible for the final as he was still Minor in 2020 but Jack is a serious talent going forward. Quick and technically excellent , you will be seeing Jacks name on team sheets and scoreboards for years to come, and probably before the summer is out !!
Tom Abbey (Kit Man) If you are wondering why the team and the warm up set up look so professional, that’s Tom. Nothing goes missing when he’s about !! 🏐🏐
Sympathies to the Tracey Family in Myshall, our
@Carlow_GAA
JHC match due to be played tonight has been postponed.
@GaaEoin
Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.
Tadhg Black (Forward) . Tadhg has put in some brilliant performances for our Junior C side over last two seasons and has worked his way into contention on the Junior A side as a result. Will be a feature in the side in the coming years if he keeps progressing like he is
