Hot tip for programmers who like a snack. If it's something like potato chips, use chop sticks to avoid getting your keyboard gross. I've been doing it since college, highly recommend.
The mad dash to create bad Deno content is on. I just watched a video where the author said NodeJS will be dead in 2 years and you shouldnโt learn node at all. ๐ฌ
I love the enthusiasm in content creators. Just make sure youโre giving good advice.
I don't understand the argument against renaming master to main (or anything else for that matter). Main has no relation to slavery, is shorter, even starts with the same letter. What's with the attachment to the word "master".
Why are some people trying to make everything a war all the time. If you donโt like React, Angular, Vue, Svelte whatever, donโt use it.
Some dude just hopped in my mentions talking about how React devs donโt use properly semantic html. Get that shit outta here.
I'm 33 today. Breaking has taught me so many things in life. Being ok with failing, how to think on the fly, not being afraid to make my own path. This clip has all of that. Fails & freestyles.

๐ฒTODO Tree ๐ฒ
This adds all of your // TODO comments to your explorer and gives you and easy overview of all of your TODOs. I am โค๏ธloving this thing.
After sincerely trying HTMX I'm left with the vision of seeing most interfaces I use and wondering if they reallllly need client side js beyond interacting with the server.
CSS and HTML in 2024 have really picked up a ton of that slack. Dialog, popover, ect...
Everyday, I wish that the syntax for imports was package first, thing second.
I always write import {} from 'thing' before filling in the actual import so that I get the autocompletion.
Pet peeve. When a login system asks for a Username but the username is actually an email.
Like.. if you want an email as the username, make the label "Email"
Anyone else noticing this as a trend lately in browser support?
โ Chrome
โ Firefox
โ Safari
โ Opera
No shade at the devs because I can't imagine the amount of work a browser takes to stay current, but it really seems more often than not FF is the browser missing support

And that login page better not have 50 toggle switches for different email types.

How many devs do a little dynamic stretching in the morning? Iโm talking arm circles, twists, some high knee steps. Not enough to break a sweat, just enough to get moving.
As desk sitters and computer users, I think we would all approach morning work a bit better if we did.
One thing I love about Svelte is not worrying about state providers. Need a reactive store? Couldn't be more straightforward. Import the store, update or read the value. No extra functions, no wrappers. Power in simplicity.
3 new CSS things in image.
All of three of these new techniques are a joy to use. Env vars, custom media queries and ranged media queries. Gotta love it.
My wife, Dr. Tolinski and I are planning a mental health series for
@LevelUpTuts
. As a Dr of Psychology she has a ton of info that could be helpful for the community. We're looking for topic ideas to cover. We have a bunch of our own planned, but would like to see what is wanted
People have seriously lost it. Some guy in a giant truck just tried to run me off the road, threw coins at my car, rolled coal at me, then terrorized me for several miles for what I can only assume is because I drive an EV because the entire thing was completely unprovoked.
CSS Tip.
You can use ^= with an href attribute selector to style links based on the start of path linked.
Here I'm targeting the timestamp links in show notes with a[href^='
#t
']
Signals are dope.
$effect without dependency array is dope.
Same functionality in all files is dope.
$props much better than export let (is dope).
no more special <script context="module"> is dope
One way of doing all state instead of both let and writable() is dope.
All in allโฆ
Aight yโall. Going to dance practice so Iโm going to mute replies.
Please donโt fight about Tailwind. If you use it or not, itโs all good. All that matters is that youโre having fun and making cool things.
Vercel is good, vps hosting is good, Cloudflare is good, render is good.
Ever since netlify released the one click deploy with auto deploys weโve gotten a ton of great options. Try it all, use what fits your needs.
FYI CSS in JS is usually just a strategy for scoping and doesn't really deserve the ridicule it gets.
Knowing when and how to scope CSS can be super powerful. You can use BEM, CSS-in-JS, CSS Modules, who cares.
Tweaking my desk setup today. Going down to one monitor instead of using the laptopโs too. Moving my studio monitors off the desk to stands in the back of the room (temp sitting on the floor)
