When I catch a typo in a submission (as I just did), I wince, not because it's some unforgivable error, but because I know the horror of being a writer who rereads a piece after clicking send, spotting the mistake, and feeling like the world has caved in. Fear not, you're good.

Some things I'm thinking about re chapbook publishing: 1) No submission fees 2) I prefer upfront & escalating (w/ each print press run of 100) author payments, instead of royalties 3) Authors should get a fair few copies free (from each print press run) 4) This is gonna be fun

My dad died 2 years ago, but tomorrow I'll help my mom move from her home of 40 years. I'm lying in bed, in darkness, in my childhood bedroom, for the final time & just read a glorious submission with swaths of text that are simply stunning, & I couldn't accept it fast enough.

I've been waiting almost 6 months to say I've been published by The Washington Post for the 2nd time. Thankfully, I've been paid (I kinda begged because I was so broke 2 months ago) but I can't wait to see it and have others read this personal essay x reported parenting article.
