Andale product Katelyn Fairchild, who just graduated from HS last month after winning state in the javelin, qualified for the finals of the 2021 Olympic Trials today. 24 entries in the US, only 12 to the finals. All other athletes in finals are professional or college athletes.

Blake Bell lost his starting QB job at Oklahoma. He could’ve transferred but but being the unselfish player that he is he moved to TE. That move led him to the NFL. Today Bell will play in the Super Bowl for the Kansas City Chiefs as a TE. Bishop Carroll ➡️Super Bowl.

Only two former Kansas HS players were drafted in the 2019 NFL Draft. Ben Powers - Kapaun/ButlerCC/OU, Corey Ballentine - Shawnee Heights/Washburn. Neither one were all-state in high school or had any FBS scholarship offers. Earned it all. Never sell yourself short!

10 years ago: Ron Baker of 3A Scott City led the Beavers to a 3A title with game winning shot to beat Minneapolis, 55-53. WSU offered walk-on grayshirt from tourney performance. He turned that into All-American career at WSU, Final Four, and three years in the NBA.

Chills. This is what it’s all about. Believing in yourself and giving 100%. Girard pregame speech before knocking off undefeated Columbus on Friday. Girard entered game with 3-5 record, lost this same game 26-7 back in week three and won 29-18 Friday. #sportsinkansas

We have kids in Kansas that can play 🏈. Just need to have an opportunity. In a way it may be a good thing to be a sleeper state because kids play with that much more motivation. Don’t underestimate the Kansas HS product!

He’s one of the best QB recruits we’ve ever had but let’s appreciate him as a multiple sport athlete too. Avery Johnson of 5A Maize is already a 2x all-state pick in 🏈🏀⚾️ with a senior season left. Will go down as one of the best multiple sport athletes in Kansas history.
