I’m going to start off with Dabi exploding. If Dabi were to explode, it’d be a 5 km radius which would’ve obliterated everything in its path. Within the blast zone, there were civilians, and I’m pretty sure the Toga fight (I can’t find the chapter sorry)

Bkg’s death: Bakugo is a fan favorite character, quite literally winning everyone popularity poll, so his death caused many fans to worry if he’d return Bakugo is one of the strongest in class A, so the heroes losing him as an asset was a huge worry which raises the stakes alone

Mirko’s limbs Mirko lost her arm and leg in the first war and we saw that she had some new prosthetics This war, she lost all of her limbs. While she could always get prosthetics, her own limbs cannot just grow back. Let me remind you that prosthetics will never be the original

Fully. In Shonen, two-three minutes could be a couple chapters. Obviously, im not Horikoshi. I can’t tell you if next chapter Deku can fight again. In theory, Deku may be out of the fight for a few chapters. Even earlier in the manga, they said two seconds is an eternity

Eri’s sacrifice: Eri sacrificed her horn to help in the fight. This could potentially damage her quirk or even completely removed it as we’ve seen happen with characters like Chisaki. Without her horn, she cannot use her quirk. Now, we don’t know if she can regrow it or not

Transferring all the quirks did indeed break Shigaraki down, but it brought AFO back and killed Shigaraki. This means that giving away all the quirks, minus stockpile, was all in vain. AFO being in control of Shigaraki again causes many issues considering AFO has far more

@blueey01 Stakes don’t always have the expected results. They add tension. Bkg’s death is a good example because Edgeshot was trying to revive him (plus fan bias). If Edgeshot didn’t revive him, two heroes are lost. If Edgeshot did revive him, a stronger hero is brought back.
