I make shitty art that is bad and inconsistent . hi
Schizophrenic black artist from America who draws stupid shit and is stupid. Follow me if you like bad art of lesbian ships and ocs it's really the one and only thing I ever do
3. FUUUUCK I HATE IT (vector layer, set to multiply or color burn or linear burn or overlay, it's your choice. opacity 75%) [Put every layer including this and everything after in a separate folder, it won't work if you don't]
5. OVERLAY LAYERS (used to define saturation, use saturated colors in the same hue. this should define the focal points in the piece. or not who cares idgaf)
I just want to say thank you for reading this far. I'm not someone who's very confident and I have no self esteem. I don't like my art and I don't like myself - never have and doubt I ever will. If I can leave you with anything I hope you'll know I'm proud of you.
4. Use multiply layers at different opacities in a monochrome color palette to define the tones of colors, and then use it to define the shadows, use desaturated colors
Art is hard, art is difficult. There is nothing I love and hate more than art. Know that your worth as a person is not defined by your skill, and everything you make has inherent value. Creations of meager creatures like us are reflections of our souls.
8. DEFINE LIGHTS WITH OVERLAY AND SCREEN LAYERS, use saturated colors with the same hue as before. (I decided to change the lineart from multiply to overlay at this point)
I'll probably delete this later in favor of some better drawings but yeah eve is based on me and maggie is based on someone else

btw I'm going to try and be more open and casual on this account because it's going to die if I don't post. I'm just going to share whatever I have and if it's decent I'll add tags. I don't want to keep hiding my art. ferret studies bc i wanna learn to draw slugcars rainworld
hello! I made an art account for side things I wanna do so I can put my more serious art on here instead of clogging it with dumb ship art no one wants to see. I'll make a better pfp in a bit it's just a placeholder for now .
For everyone asking about my brushes; please be patient! The issue is that *these aren't actually my brushes*, they're free ones I've collected over time and insanely tweaked to my preference. I wanna make sure the og stuff is properly credited b4 I hand them out -
@playingeasyy
My apologies!! /gen This wasn't really meant to be like... an actual tutorial? I'd hardly consider myself an artist so I don't tend to take myself very seriously. This was made with like 5 people in mind who'd asked for it I didn't expect it to actually matter to people.....
My biggest advice to other artists is to sometimes just make your brain shut up and slap some shit on the canvas and see what sticks. you don't have to do this all the time, but especially if you make very articulate particular work, it's good for your health
I have very poor motor skills due to my mental issues, thus you'll see a lot of my art has shakey lines or looks like chicken scratch. For the most part I don't *do* lineart, I did in this case for the tutorial to make it clean, and vector layers help stabilize and refine it.
BTW, if you've drawn fanart for my OC fairytale project called "Molasses" could you either reply with it or dm it to me! <(^v^)> I finally got a phone [after losing my old one while on a trip] which means I can rebuild my fanart folder!
For the last three years, I have had one goal in mind: to be good enough at art to be that one guy in the fandom that makes stupidly detailed ship art of two characters that look like biblical paintings. I think I'm almost there chat.
- since the textures and stuff aren't technically mine. They're honestly nothing like what the originals were but it still doesn't feel right but I'll try to find the time to compile a zip of them w/ attributions to the actual owners.
@playingeasyy
But in future endeavors like this I'll try to keep it more neat and organized! I have no idea how any of this stuff works really I'm just a guy who draws lesbians and transgenders and birds, so I'm probably not the best teacher for anything fine-art related :P
Like straight up sometimes I just drop the pen or jolt/twitch in a certain way, lineart is hard lol. vector snapping erasers help me clean it so it's easier to look at, and in the rendering process, it's merged into a raster layer regardless.
Also so people can enjoy my art without being subjected to ship stuff because I'm aware there's a good subset of people who just want my normal Isaac (or non isaac) art

@sendookualt
YEAH I can't reply on main but thank you!!! Ik others probably don't care but I felt a heavy responsibility and burden to say something for those who were bothered by it especially because I took part in it. That and I just felt really bad
@ChadScarbs
Again, really just the disposition and the way your subject holds itself. Break its complex body down into digestible shapes you can replicate easily, find its spine and make a line of action from it. Play around with how you can stylize it.
@ChadScarbs
You can look up specifically "art anatomy" if you wanna avoid the gore. however the organs show you why the animal has the disposition it does. like if they have big lungs you'll see a more emphasized ribcage.
