Andre Jackson of Albany Academy was amazing in the 1Q vs Park. 9 points on 4 great shots.
-Steal & slam.
-Assist to himself off the glass dunk.
-Behind the back to elude the defender then the flush.
-Knocking down a deep three pointer.
Jessica Wagoner of Shen is becoming 1 of my favorite players to watch in Section 2. She does so many little things to help the team win. You won't often find her in the headlines for scoring but she does so much more including great defense, hustling & energy. Here are some clips
Averill Park 2022 standout G Amelia Wood is outstanding at getting to the rim & finishing through contact. She's quick off the dribble and can knock down any jumper. As her jump shot continues to improve she'll be unstoppable on the offensive end to go along w/her tough defense.
The smallest state in the union, Rhode Island, has added three local girls to play Division 1 Basketball recently.
Dolly Carins (Rhode Island)
Meghan Huerter (Providence)
Olivia Olsen (Providence)
Shenendehowa's Meghan Huerter has committed to Providence College in the Big East to play hoop. Meghan is a prolific scorer that does it by catching & shooting w/unlimited range, off the dribble or with a great cut. Always willing to dig in & get a stop on defense
@MeghanHuerter
Watching City Rocks at Peach Jam, Albany Academy's August Mahoney with a couple clutch 3's, a great dish, and free throws down the stretch to help ice the game. They win 65-57

wanted she continues to show what a great player she is. Her impact on both ends of the court are amazing! From changing/blocking shots to taking the ball the length of the floor & dishing or finishing.
Section 2 basketball teams that have qualified for the NYSPHSAA scholar athlete teams. *To qualify as a Scholar-Athlete team, 75% of the team roster’s averaged GPA must be 90.0 or above.
Lilly Phillips of Cambridge has committed to UALBANY. Lilly is a great two way player. She runs the floor & finishes as well as any player in the area. Lilly's hands are always in the passing lane turning defense into immediate offense. Can shoot from long range
@Lilly_Phillips4
With Sophie Phillips and Dolly Cairns both committing to the University of Rhode Island Women's Basketball team imagine what it will look like in a couple of years....Both players taking turns scoring against A10 opponents.

Meghan Huerter of Shenendehowa with the three pointer and the foul for a 4 point play! This was one of her 4 1st half three pointer's to help Shen out to a lead they would never relinquish.

Sacred Heart is getting a great player. Kelsey is fierce competitor, a tenacious re-bounder and she's one of the best post players I've seen locally (boys or girls) at being able to catch the ball in traffic and finish. Here are a few scoring highlights.
I'm really happy for this staff & team. They were told they were allowed to play as long as they don't practice or schedule games on their own HOME court. Inside their own school? They've now finished the required practices and tomorrow is their 1st game. Congrats & enjoy!!
Here are highlights w/context of the last 2 minutes of the 1/9/18 girls game between Averill Park & Shenendehowa. Unbelievably well played & coached game. Clutch plays from both sides & both teams competing to the final whistle.
Class C Regional Chatham 50 Moriah 46.
Panthers trailed 46-43 with less than 15 seconds left & scored the last seven points to win the game. A game tying three pointer by Friday night's hero Anthony O'Dell & a game winning bucket by Tyler Kneller off of a turnover. O'Dell's shot
Quick update. I've had some family health issues that started 12 days ago. Haven't had time for anything other than regular job & hospital. Things slowly improving. I hope to be able to get back to coverage soon as long as things seem like they are going in the right direction.
I never understand why girls/womens basketball doesn't get the attention it deserves. Seems to go under the radar at all levels. (High Schools to WNBA). I've enjoyed the past couple years covering on a local level & hope to continue to give girls hoop the exposure it deserves.
Frank Rainville of Columbia netting back to back three pointers to give the Blue Devils some breathing room midway through the fourth period. Turning a two point game into an eight point cushion. Six of his game high 38 points.

Go ahead basket by Schalmont. The only time they had the lead all game as they rallied from 22 points down in the first half.
A great dish from Trent Randle to a cutting Austin Redmond.
Catskill's all-time leader in scoring in their program's history has made her college choice. Janay Brantley is headed to Stony Brook. Here are a some of her scoring highlights from this past season. The Seawolves are getting a great all-around player.
Crazy ending involving Ballston Spa's Keegan Zoller playing for Florida College (NAIA). Down 2 points, Zoller purposely misses his free throw, gets it back and while in the air hits his teammate for the win! Great play.
Oh my 👀 No. 25 Florida College wins it!!
What. A. FINISH!!
@FC_Hoops_
with the PERFECT execution of the FT purposeful miss play for the game winner!! They come back from down 22 points and only led for 25 seconds the entire game!!
Albany Academy's Andre Jackson getting the attention he deserves on the national level for being a great all-around player. His defense, toughness, court vision, athleticism, attacking style of offense and decision making all continue to get better.
Andre Jackson's virtues as an NBA prospect were on full display in UConn's Final Four run, with spectacular plays highlighting his explosive athleticism and defensive versatility. He has 31 assists, 28 rebounds and made a barrage of winning plays in key moments through 4 games.
Here's every made bucket from the Cambridge girls scorching 🔥🔥🔥 first half in their state semi-final game:
49 points! Yes, 49 first half points!! 18 made field goals, 8 three pointers. Just a remarkable job of teamwork versus a good opponent.
Andre Jackson of Albany Academy has committed to UCONN. His athleticism is unbelievable and not often seen in this area. Still every time I watch him play I'm more and more impressed with the way the he's improved the little things of his game and how unselfish he plays.
Section 2 standout Ahniysha Jackson of Albany High has committed to
