Last July 1, SSB 388 took effect, which @GovRonDeSantis signed that allows EMTs & paramedics to treat & transport #lawenforcement canines injured in the line of duty. SCFD is taking K-9 Emergency Care Courses to make this happen. Thank you @SeminoleSO for your partnership.

Today 7:06am: W Osceola Rd Geneva: Toby the horse's leg was caught in a guy wire, which supports electrical power poles, & he had been there overnight. SCFD used hydraulic spreaders for his legs, and then dig out hole so he was able to stand on his own. Vet says Toby doing well.

In March, our crews were dispatched to a cardiac arrest of a newborn at a midwifery care. Arden (now 8 months old) was not breathing at birth, but was able to do fine w/o complications w/ response from midwifery & crews. The family visited the crew to convey their thanks.

Florida US&R Task Force 4 is on their way to Baton Rouge, LA for their assigned 14 day deployment to Hurricane Laura. 42 highly skilled firefighters from Central Florida including 10 members from SCFD left this morning.

SCFD responded to a structure fire this morning in @Casselberry_FLA One patient was transported for observation. Several animals were rescued. Fire was contained to the kitchen. SCFD fire investigator on scene. @RedCrossCFL assisting occupants. @LongwoodFL Fire also assisted.

❤️🚒 Station 27 in Winter Springs ran a call today where an elderly couple was trying to move bags of mulch when the husband fell in the yard. After caring for the patient, the crew helped finish getting the mulch where it was needed and pumped up the cart tres. #firefighters
