I never thought I’d ever say this again about me - but I have cancer, again.
This time prostate cancer. 20 years ago it was Hodgkin’s Disease. I’ve often said Cancer doesn’t care who you are or who you love. The road ahead won’t be easy but my plan is to go 2-for-2!
My thanks to the GREAT nurses and staff at St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood-and my team of Docs-got thru surgery today with radiation on horizon

When I was diagnosed with cancer in 1998, I was told by my oncologist I couldn’t mow my yard. One day, a lawn service showed up out of the blue. Sid and Chad hired them. I’ve kept that service ever since. RIP Sid.
I’ve always been up front about my cancer news good and bad and today more good news. Two years out from prostate cancer and PSA very low and health is great! Thank you
@mnoncology
and all the great docs and nurses! Let’s not forget cancer research during Covid!
@RSCRCF
Here’s bottom line. I don’t have cancer and get your damn yearly physical. Battery of tests including dreaded bone marrow biopsy Monday- but got great news today. It starts with a physical - I’m talking to you - GUYS.
As I begin cancer treatment today my TV partner
@JulieNelsonKARE
gave me exactly what I needed to start journey

Third PSA test since finishing prostate cancer treatment one year ago....results? Barely detectable!! Thank you to my great docs!! Time to put cancer behind me for good! Great feeling!!
I wish I could blame my emotions on my cancer treatment but in reality I would have cried without it - I love my new daughter-in-law Heather so much -she is so special
@RShaverSports
Married 34 years today. By far, the best decision of my life. Happy anniversary to my best friend, travel navigator, mom of the year, love of my life!! I’m blessed.
@Roseanngolf
If you would have said you made it to age 62 and you’ll start your birthday in the gym at 8:30am.... I would have said you’re crazy. But.... here I am. Blessed.
One year ago today-during the state fair-I was officially diagnosed with prostate cancer. Fast forward to today and life is back on track!!

So, so sad to hear the tragic death of
@PolarsFB
quarterback Deshaun Hill. Just a sophomore with his whole life ahead of him. We lost a true shining star
Bud said something to me early in my career I never forgot. “You can ask me anything, but it’s how you ask me that matters.” Lesson learned. I had the privilege to be around greatness. RIP Bud
@Vikings
So proud of my youngest- Rob, today he takes the big STEP medical exam (9 hours) - he’s been studying basically 4 months straight!! Say a prayer!!

Don’t be sad it’s over, be happy that it happened. We said do long to our beautiful home after 26 years. Wonderful place to raise our family. We’re ready for our next adventure!
I told you so Rob Shaver! He matched today and on Friday he finds out where he starts residency as a dermatologist!! All those years of
@umnmedschool
has paid off! I’m so proud!
So it’s come down to this .. one last ride. I bought my Sante Fe in 2002 - for context
@RShaverSports
was in 6th grade! 252,145 miles later I’m parting with my baby.. donating her to
@wheelsforwishes
and benefitting Children’s Charities in Mn.

June 1998 I was diagnosed with cancer. 20 years later I’m still here. I’m one of the lucky ones. This fight is personal. Please consider supporting

Cancer sucks. No one knows that more than
@caseyob14
who is back in the fight, again. My conversation with Casey and his incredible attitude tonight on

To all of you who are

before my attempt -thank you for your words of support- no one wants this —not even 1for1 — so that’s why we raise our voices and raise $$ for cancer research -for those next in line
First off - the picture of me is from 1988. (I can hear you laughing.) my point is the seniors in high school in 1984 when we started Prep Sports Extra on
@kare11
are now 55. How is that possible? But then I look at my hair and say, anything is possible.
I know I can’t do this show forever - though I wish I could. I savor every prep football season working for
@kare11
where the station support is thru the roof! I’m so grateful to do what I love and I’ll be back for season

Welcome to the world Rocco! Our hearts are full! Two weeks early but a big 8 pound boy! Your sister Bella can’t wait to meet you! We can’t wait either! What a big day and born on your Mama’s birthday to boot! We love you!
If I can. I want to say how much i’ll miss
@Dave_Schwartz
at
@kare11
- Sunday’s his last day. I helped hire Dave, and watched him grow into an outstanding sports anchor/reporter and person. Great teammate, great person. We’ll miss his experience, expertise and hard work.
Sadly, we won’t be having lunch after Covid ends. And like Tom, he was worried about friend Trevor Fleck who was going through cancer. My last conversation with Hanny.
What an honor to interview 94 year old Bud Grant today for an upcoming Super Bowl story! Thank you to the
@Vikings
- not just talking to Bud but a few of great players from the 1977 Super Bowl team as well!
Just a reminder: Real Men Wear Gowns. I’ve had two friends recently diagnosed with cancer but caught early because of a physical. Don’t be dumb get a yearly physical!
I know many are sad, disappointed by the
@MSHSL
decision to move football to the spring. This move buys more time to make game safer in this COVID time. Safety is priority one. To start, stop, try to restart season in fall would have been disastrous.
Tonight at 10pm on
@kare11
Part 2 of our story on
@BoydHuppert
battle with cancer. Hear from Boyd and his doctors on the challenge ahead. And if you’d be so kind, say a prayer or two.
