Hey, Twitter. Personal update (hopefully my last for a little while):
Today I start as a Tech Reporter with
@SBJ
, a dream opportunity at this stage of my career for myriad reasons. I couldn't be more excited.
Tip line is open at the email in bio. And indulge a quick thread...
Asked LeBron James his impressions of Bulls rookie Patrick Williams:
"Long arms. He has Kawhi-type hands that I noticed out on the floor, so I knew I couldn’t play with the ball much. You could tell he’s laser sharp on just trying to get better.... Chicago has a good one."
Patrick Williams on preparing to face Giannis: "Same as you get ready for anybody else. First of all, don't be scared. I feel like a lot of people in this league are scared or nervous to guard guys like that... He puts his pants on the same way I do. He's good, but he's not God."
Zach LaVine on boos the Bulls heard: "To be honest, they should. It's embarrassing. We're a really good basketball team and we're not playing like it. They (fans) know that. We know that. It's understandable. We understand they (fans) have our back. But we have to play better."
Bulls injury updates from Billy Donovan:
• Lonzo Ball has "ramped up" his running of late
• Alex Caruso will hopefully be able to do work with ball late this week or early next week
• Patrick Williams is working with ball, but no contact or date to return to practice yet
Jimmy Butler on the new-look Bulls: "They’re a really good team. It’s always great to see Chicago winning, and they’re having fun out there in the stands. The organization, the city deserves that. I think they’re gonna do extremely well this year."
A wise person once told me your sports media career doesn’t truly begin until your first lay-off. So, on the bright side…
I’m out at NBC Sports Chicago. When I know what’s next, I’ll let you all know. In meantime, email is open if any leads out there: robschaef1833

Later added: "He probably asks more questions than any rookie I've been around, on and off the court."
Zach LaVine on G3: "This is one of the most important games of the series. Us coming off a win + them coming off a loss is crucial. They're gonna be coming in with a hungry mentality. You don't want human nature to set in and take a step back. We gotta come in like we're down."
Acting Bulls coach Chris Fleming, with a laugh, when asked if Zach LaVine will have a minutes restriction in first game back from COVID:
“Yeah, we’ll probably limit him to 44, 45 minutes”
