Sitting a year in post pandemic, I can’t believe a game has let me travel the world and make friends as I do it. I’ve been dreaming of Shinkansens since I was 3 (Dr yellow specifically). I can’t believe Japan is on the horizon. Pokémon and it’s community are amazing!
Didn’t think anything could top OCIC. Have to hand it to
@NinjadrakeNZ
. Casters never mentioned he was my only loss of tournament round 6. We did agree before game that it was ok to dance win or lose. Really grateful for all the new friends and everyone that helped me along the
Top 16 in Sacramento. Went 5-2 with Sablezard. Secured my worlds invite. Glad to see all my friends again. Being back in the Bay Area and seeing the golden gate again is always amazing. Thanks to
@cgccards
for the support.

As the 2023 season comes to an end, this year has been insane. Finishing with 2270 cp (1st globally) is not something I was aiming for and couldn’t have done it alone. 2 back to back IC championships, top 8 LAIC, too many regional top cuts to count (7 I think) and getting to
First regional as a senior, 19th (5-2-1) out of 154 players. Met Arc Tina round 4 and 5, not a great matchup. Would run it again if I had to. Thanks to
@Bas_Lashmet
@Terceirafire
and Nathan for testing,
@CyrusDavisTCG
,
@sobertrimpson
and Kamil for adventures in the pokebus.
9th place in Stockholm, definitely need to explore more European regionals next year. A lot more chill and people are so nice. Making more new friends and exploring a majestic city. So many stories. Will post more as week goes on. Thanks to

In 2022 , Toronto regionals, I was dq and thrown out of the venue from top 4, with game in hand after going undefeated throughout tournament. In a private conversation with my dad away from tables I said a swear word that a passing judge heard and they stripped me of everything.
I just got back from japan. Going 2-5 is something that I never expected at any tournament this year, the stress and expectations got the best of me. It ultimately stifled my focus, I have no one to blame but myself. The bigger lesson is that I am not defined by one tournament. I
Tried something different this time around. Masters meta looked like our call was not right. Abandoned deck day before start. New deck was maybe a little too forward thinking. still stoked about the process and how quickly we put something together. 4-2-2 , 47th.

It’s fine, everyone views it from their own perspective. But your view takes the community for granted. That they want to play side events from grinding all year. It’s clearly not the case. If it goes that pathway you kill growth of game for everyone else. I don’t understand why
Toronto regionals holds a special place in my heart. 1st regional in 2017 came second to last. For years I knew that Toronto players a built diff and it shows in the standings. My first time playing Arc for a major event and probably the last. 5-3 bubbled 32. Happy to see all my
Does day 2 for seniors sit weird with anyone? 15 rounds to top cut and only top 8 gets prize money? Just drop us into masters already or at least give us the choice.
It’s that time of the year again, let’s talk about how
@CopagPokemon
has still not delivered my 2023 top 8 ultra bola. What a joke, took a whole year to payout cash prizing. Only
@PokemonTCG
@playpokemon
has the power to force their hand.
There’s a small Pokémon center in shinsaibashi next to Pokémon cafe. Has way more stock than Osaka Pokémon center. And legendary birds trump motorcycle lizards.
2 of the best juniors… congrats to Prince and Drake . Had lots of fun at NAIC. The top 8 IC streak ends with a tie at win and in. 5-1-2 with mew v, Couldn’t be happier for the two most deserving tcg players.
See you all in Japan!!!
@LiamHalliburton
You can’t negate locals, jr and seniors are dependant on local points. Most can’t travel to regionals. Think the way they have it now is fine. I’d rather see locals points not count towards stipends.
Please retweet! I’m glad
@playpokemon
has released more information about NAIC but it would be great to know exact registration numbers. Playing 8 rounds vs 14 will alter deck decision. Are TCG Sr playing 14 rounds since our schedule follows masters?

What a crazy weekend. Just missed top cut, two testing partners made top 8,
@Bas_Lashmet
in masters and
@UltraNKO
is in seniors finals today. Will post list and thoughts shortly. Shout out to
@CatSupporter15
@lucasoldale
Noah Justin. Our success and learnings will only continue
@Smart_TCG
LAIC is easily the worst tournament every year, not sure why any of this comes as a surprise nor why anyone attends. They should cut LAIC and bring back OCIC.
I will be streaming at 6:30 PM EST. Will be opening packs and playing cards See you there! If I reach 20 viewers I will be doing a giveaway at the end of the stream
Japan was a legendary trip.some of the highlights include hanging out with friends, especially Nathan O,
@Terceirafire
and
@Bas_Lashmet
. Running mezastar with
@KrackenKingsley
and
@OwenDalgard
. Playing in several gym battles. The good and the bad!
Good day for Goodra! Despite rough prize cards to start with, Yohann uses a variety of attackers in game 2, eventually winning the Juniors EUIC Championship with Hisuian Goodra VSTAR!

Indianapolis regionals update. Went 5-1-2 and got top 16. played Zard and felt good with my decision. Unfortunately hitting 2 control and going 0-1-1 to them.overall great event! Thanks to
@CGCCards
.
@Danny__O
was amazing to see you after so long.
Hartford regional Jr tcg update. Went 5-2. Missed top cut due to brick and missed favorable odds on outs for win. Both great opponents Cobey (finalist) and Lucas (top 4). Congrats to everyone in top 8 including Vesper. So happy for all my friends who are getting their invites.
Happy New Year's day! I hope you had a great New Year's Eve. I would like to thank everybody that has helped and supported me throughout last year. One of my new year's resolutions is to grow and get better at pokemon and make sure I have more fun playing this amazing card game.
Said it before will say it again, guaranteed IC registration needs to be extended to a broader range of players other than just top 16. With games not scaling in size while demand grows reg for all events needs to make it more fair for committed players. Whether it’s locals all
There are so many people behind the scenes and
@Danny__O
has been there throughout. He truly cares about the community and has had my back for the past two seasons helping wherever he can. He always believed in me. I can’t thank him enough for everything.
The waves and who can register should be based on prior attendance and play. Giving auto in based on stipend is not enough. I would like to know how many first timers got into NAIC vs the people who dedicated their year to chasing worlds. So sorry to all my friends who missed out
LAIC continues to be a joke. stuff from sign up still shipping 6 months later? At this point can assume will never get prizing. Whole thing feels like a scam.
Also there have been some fun issues that have surfaced from some games this week. Does anyone know if there is a way for a jr or sr player to opt into masters and play at that level? Has anyone ever done it?
@cschemanske
If a players list doesn’t match tournament should be over. Not sure why this is ever even a question. Players should check this multiple times before submission and check for 60 at the end of every game.
@pmplays1089
I don’t know the answers, but going to a tournament and getting top 8 doesn’t necessarily mean you are the best. Worlds is a grind. Top 8 plus locals should get you there. Play the game have fun, there’s no right answer to this except anyone should be able to make a path for
I’m glad
