Altuve had a really good idea what was coming, because it was obvious Chapman has lost command of his fastball when he walked Springer before him. Chapman couldn’t throw a fastball for a strike to Altuve either, so he was sitting slider. Smart hitting. Also, no you couldn’t.

Going into the season finale, the Astros have allowed 530 runs, & are poised to shatter the AL record for fewest runs allowed in a non-strike year in the DH era. 1974 A’s allowed 551 runs. Only 2 NL teams have allowed fewer runs in that time (2015 STL 525, 2011 PHI 529).

I will never forget Collin’s Astros debut in Seattle in 2014; who the heck is this waiver claim throwing 6 2/3 shutout innings with 12 Ks? After a few starts, it was clear he wasn’t a flash in the pan. My favorite baseball success story ever. And an easy guy to root for.

How are you supposed to know in March how you will feel in July, or what your numbers will be by July? Not to mention, every spot gets filled so, if a player doesn’t go for whatever reason, he’s replaced. A solution isn’t necessary for something that isn’t a problem.

A simple solution for players who don't want to participate in the All-Star Game: In spring training, ask MLB and the Players Association to withdraw your name from consideration. That way, fans can vote for players who want to go, and union brethren get the support, attention.
