I’m very disappointed today but I am grateful for 18 years as the Voice of EAC football. 206 games, the only 5 bowl games in the school’s history and the first and last ever WSFL championship. To anyone who ever turned on the radio and let me into your home..I say thank you.

Safford High School has hired a football coach. Former Eastern Arizona College coach John O'Mera will lead the Bulldogs when football resumes. He lead Eastern Arizona College for 15 years. He was in the top 10 of all time winningest coaches when the program at EAC was dissolved

I think it's important to note that all 10 Maricopa county college presidents recommended the cancelation of sports but interim chancellor Dr. Steven Gonzales sat down and gathered info and made a decision to keep sports. That doesn't happen in today's culture very often. #props

Thatcher Jr Seth Lunt took a line drive off the eye today while pitching vs Morenci in the 2A playoffs. Lunt was taken to a local ER for some stitches. Luckily x-rays and concussion we're negative. Oh he got the win too.

Big hire for Morenci Football. Per Morenci Athletic Director Tiffany Powers: Morenci High School has hired Rishard Davis as their new football coach. Davis previously coached at Eloy Santa Cruz High School and led them to a state championship.

Sad to report that former Willcox head football coach and Thatcher assistant coach Jack Kortsen has passed away. His son, also named Jack, was the QB on Thatcher's last state championship team. RIP coach.

I just talked to the AIA and they are aware of the accusations that the Scottsdale Christian fan section was chanting racial phrases to the Morenci players at last night's 2A baseball championship. If you have any video evidence, the AIA asks that you get it to your school's AD.

My proposal to Eastern Arizona college for football is to embrace being the only Arizona Junior College with football. You would flip your roster from 90% out of state to 90% in State players and cut down your out of state tuition scholarship spending.

Multiple sources confirm MCCCD will eliminate football after the 2018 season. Phoenix, Mesa, Scottsdale and Glendale Community Colleges will honor all scholarships through 2019, but this upcoming season will be the last that those schools have football programs.

If you played football in the WSFL in the last 30 years you know the name Bob O'Mera. He was the head coach at AZ Western and later the OC at EAC. His career spanned nearly 5 decades in all levels of football. Bob passed away Monday night. The game of football lost a great one

I've confirmed that, pending board approval, Daniel Jones will be the next Thatcher football coach. Jones has spent the last few seasons at Desert Ridge High, with Jeremy Hathcock. He played for the legendary Paul Moro at Blue Ridge High.

Friends.. There is a bill in the Arizona Senate right now that would allow all Arizona Community Colleges to offer a small amount of 4 year degrees. Reach out to your State Senators and let them know this would be a great thing for rural Arizona..
