I figured out a new design pattern that can be used to achieve true global state on Cardano right now. This enables you to design dapps with zero UTxO contention issues. With this design pattern, many different (completely independent) transactions can operate on the same shared…

Why is Cardano the perfect candidate for applied zero-knowledge proofs? In transactions on Cardano all state is localized to baskets of coins (UTxOs) being spent in the transaction. In a given block, each basket of coins (UTxO) can only be spent once in the absence of…

@JSHyCS There is an important distinction and I don't think they should be called wallet drainers. In other ecosystems, (EVM) you approve DApps to spend (normally all of) your tokens from your wallet at any time. This means that from the moment that you sign that approval you have no way…

@phil_uplc @axotrade Sorry, Phil I misunderstood your original suggestion. The idea is interesting on its own and I'm going to think if there's a way to incorporate it. The reason why it hasn't been done is the future proofing for indexes and ETFs being fungible despite being separate strategies.

@Quantumplation @ikigai_tech Yes, huge shoutout to @ikigai_tech ! The architecture was heavily inspired by their auction protocol. I think this is the most efficient you can get a simple UPLC validator which checks that a parameterised withdrawal script hash is withdrawn from: , if you can beat this, I’m putting up a 1000 ada bounty. You can’t break or change how it validates txs!

@buxdabomb @RollTideMarm I’m saying Solana is worthless. I purchased hardware to run a validator a few months ago, cost me $11k and still wasn’t sufficient. Awful centralized network ran by super computers; better to just use AWS and call it a day.

@thepizzaknight_ No, it is transaction determinism. Transactions on Solana cannot be deterministic, because the architecture is entirely different. The smart contract validation of a Solana transaction is indeterministic because it depends entirely on when the tx is processed in the block. On…

This culture of making excuses for "decentralized" applications with closed-source smart contracts needs to stop. Your application is not a DApp if your smart contracts cannot be independently reviewed by the public for backdoors / master-keys. The longer this trend continues,…

I think we often conflate the term "open-source" with "source-available". In blockchain, we need contracts to be "source-available" as a security measure, to ensure there are no backdoors or explicit vulnerabilities. Open-source is a different thing... Open-source, it's about…

@buxdabomb @cardano_whale Weakest point within the ecosystem is lack of truly decentralized DApps. There isn’t a single dapp on Cardano that have near the same levels of decentralization as the top 10 DApps on ethereum/ EVM compatible chains. Exactly this. If the contracts are not open-source (or BSL), the project is not trust-less. Users then have to trust that the project won’t rug them.

The no. 1 reason you open source your contracts is to show people you didn't include a backdoor in your project. If the dApp is not doing this, it is just as secure as a multisig, and it is not trustless.
