With layoffs continuing to happen I can’t avoid but think about the vulnerabilities we humans have. Companies first lead us to believe in made-up stories (i.e., you are part of a mission). We then work tirelessly to gain that promised awesome salary, promotions, and recognition.

Call it over-engineering, but I build any website with Elixir, even those that could be statically generated, and run them on @flydotio because it’s cheap and smooth to deploy, and when the time to add dynamism to it comes, I don’t have to make any changes.

I’m one of those weird developers that do dependency injection through method arguments. I’m not a big fan of bringing new libraries, patterns, or build-time complexity that makes the code harder to work with.
