Just a reminder that it is not the public’s job to donate to the NHS. The public already funds the NHS, it is the government’s job to allocate enough money for it. Don’t let your runs distract you from this government’s failure to protect our NHS.
This constant “productivity” hype on YouTube really seems to suck the fun out of life. Every moment of your day doesn’t have to have some future monetary or “self-growth” purpose.
When I was an F1 , I was told off for using the assessment area computers in ED to discharge a patient (empty room, free computers) because it was a “nursing area” only. When challenged as to why I cannot use an empty room to discharge a patient on the computer I was told… (1)
This whole issue about doctors being excluded from staff areas is TOO COMMON.
It's gone on for too long. It's accepted by too many people.
Look at this. It is UNACCEPTABLE.
55% of doctors have found that PAs increase their workloads, even though they were sold as a way of reducing them.
Read our latest survey findings providing further insight into why doctors feel so strongly about physician and anaesthesia associates.
That my presence in the room was “heating it up” for the people next door , and that I should go to the other end of the department or move the computer to the corridor.
This man came out of retirement, knowing full well he would be at high risk from this virus, to help those in need. Let us never forget their sacrifice for humanity.

Medics should spend a week each shadowing nurses, HCAs, porters, the domestics, the WRVS volunteers, the operators running switchboard and another week with the hopper driver because it's otherwise impossible to learn to respect them.
Really enjoyed running session covering shoulder & arm as part of Birmingham Anatomy Society LIMBS series that I've been organising with the team! 👩🏫

Mates at the pub just asked me if I'm looking forward to football being back this weekend. I asked if they were time travellers.
All looked confused before I said " It seems you have gone back to the 20th July when football restarted with New Zealand v Norway in the Women's…
Our health secretary implying that NHS staff are overusing PPE as if 28 of them haven’t died on the frontline whilst you were doing your ZOOM meetings from your living room. Imbecile.
Yes we must all donate to Yemen, but no change will happen until we fix the politics. What’s happening in Yemen isn’t a natural disaster, it is deliberate crime against humanity by Iran and Saudi playing their proxy war against civilians

Do not get entangled in the cycle of days and nights, for there are other times and places that belong to you.
MOST medical students are only "book-smart" and not "street-smart". Never get jealous of them because if you remove the medical knowledge, their brains are EMPTY.
Looking back at my time at med school I realise I spent most of it doing absolutely nothing just chilling with the boys, if I had a chance to do it again I would….
Whilst our colleagues are in Gaza risking their lives to look after children with horrific injuries , British doctors in the U.K. are asking for more war.
A ceasefire is a win for Hamas. You can dress it up however you like, but it's a fact
That doesn't mean aid shouldn't get to those in need and doesn't abrogate the responsibility of Israel to prosecute the war in accordance with applicable laws, but a ceasefire is unconscionable

“Above all, don't lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect he ceases to love.”

The personal statement is easily the most outdated and redundant part of the medical application process. It tells you nothing original about a person and is most often written/edited by others, another disadvantage to those from less privilidged backgrounds.
Really productive day

My 16yo niece, in her first paid job, is earning £20/hr (£40/hr on bank holidays) to dress up as an elf at an evening seasonal tourist attraction. £2800 for a Christmas holiday job. I’m delighted for her, but it starkly illustrates how undervalued NHS & social care staff are.

There is more than enough work for all of us, working together and each working to the top of our Licence. Let’s start the new year by accepting PA’s as a valuable member of our teams & try & be more positive and accepting towards all our colleagues.
