I hate when scholars of imperialism say things like, "This is about knowing the truth, it's not about accusing people" because I AM making an accusation! The world we live in was created by a perpetrator. It didn't just magically appear. I AM ACCUSING PEOPLE. I'm assigning blame.

Go back a bit further. Before Texas entered the Union, it had seceded from Mexico in 1836. Why? Because Mexico was abolishing slavery and the white Americans who’d moved there didn’t like it. So they left. And in 1863 when America wanted to abolish slavery…Texas left again.

@AbySene9 What’s funny is that I know for sure that when posts devolve into Kiswahili, it’s usually a very savvy insult or takedown. Analysis is done in English, then the takedown is done in a comfortable language. And I love it.

Wait till y'all find out how they mashed up various distinct ethnic groups into single linguistic "tribes" so that they could save time with translating the Bible. Dakho, Isukha, Maragoli, Wanga, Bukusu...Nope. LUHYA. Giriama, Chonyi, Kambe, Duruma, Rabai...Nope. MIJIKENDA.

Missionaries have been one of the most effective instruments of colonisation. They have been used as a tool to control & subjugate indigenous people. By imposing their religion & the superiority of their god, they set in motion the domination & exploitation we still see today.

Give him 3 weeks and he’ll be a guest on Jordan Peterson’s podcast with Chimamanda, J.K. Rowling and Kissinger as Peterson cries about how pronouns “transcend the multiple subjectivities of power, roughly speaking.”

Let me say with a massive amount of (unearned) confidence, the African Studies model of yesteryear where peeping ethnographers went out into the African bush, peeped and pried, then came back to write weird things that were taken as gospel, is dead.

When we (I) say you people (racists) don’t know Black people, it always sounds like an inane, unnecessary observation but you people really don’t know Black people and everyday you show it in the most obscene ways possible.

You people have decided that Pan-Africanism is a stand in for homophobia and bigotry? As in, in your heads, those are synonyms? Were you flung against walls as infants? Is this late onset shaken baby syndrome? Don't fucking piss me off.

@jodyroumain It’s also not lost on me that this rhetoric never extends past the “revelation”. They never offer anything past “MLK had white bitches!!!” Okay Charyse, so where do we go from here? What does this teach us?. Crickets. Nothing. Just riding the FBI’s dick bicycle from side to side.

Reminder that slavery in Kenya Colony was “abolished” on Oct 1, *1907* and replaced with a FORCED LABOUR system. So, to even suggest that the (Kenya) African experience of Blackness thru colonialism is “liberated” from enslavement should be laughable except that this isn’t funny.

Hm, I once questioned the usefulness of Hegel in an article on African history. After the class, someone walked up to me and asked me, “Aside from his racism, why don’t you like Hegel?” So, I went home and made tea. (you know we could just leave Hegel out of it all, right?)

introducing your African history topic with a quote by Hegel, centers Hegel since the topic is framed as a response to him introducing the topic with a factual account, then bringing up Hegel later, is a more effective refutation b'se now the reader is aware of Hegel's ignorance
