This is the result of PD Boycie tracking from a vehicle, abandoned at the side of a main road by a suicidal person, to a river, where his handler went into the river to retrieve the person who had already entered the water. Now detained under Mental Health Act and receiving help.

We are very sad to announce the passing of retired PD Harper following a short illness. Harper loyally served @NorthantsPolice until her retirement in 2019 and during her service was even awarded a Humanitarian Award at Crufts for saving a man’s life. She will be much missed.

The face the suspect saw tonight when PD Bryn found him hiding in a skip after he’d committed a burglary. He had tried to escape through tiny gaps and over high fences but Bryn tracked to the skip, jumped in, rooted around in the rubbish and found him. Stolen property recovered.

On only his second night shift last night, PD Duke detained a burglar whilst he was still in the process of burgling a shop! The suspect wisely gave up when challenged by Duke, who then went on to locate hidden stolen property that the suspect had stashed nearby! Well done Duke!

A male ran from officers earlier today and was caught after a foot chase. The bag he discarded couldn’t be located until PD Olly arrived and sniffed it out in minutes! It contained a quantity of suspected Class A drugs and the male was arrested.

Lots of comments recently from MoP about vans being left running whilst handler not with it (incident or popping into shop). These vans have a system which allows them to be left running whilst secure and locked. It means the air con stays on for the dogs keeping them cool.

On Saturday night PD Gru was deployed after a drunk driver crashed into a barrier and another motorist and then, after throwing a punch at the other driver, made off on foot. Gru tracked and found him trying to hide behind a parked car. He was arrested and later charged.

PD Blue helped response officers in Kettering locate a missing young child this evening in foggy, dark conditions. The child is now safely back at home. Well done Blue!

At the very end of his last night shift PD Bryn was asked to assist @KetteringPolice with a suicidal missing person. Bryn tracked from the last located given and located the man collapsed on a small footbridge near a train line. He was safeguarded and given appropriate support.

Nice result for team Olly last night, a suspected drink driver failed to stop for police and the car was found abandoned nearby. PD Olly tracked from it and located the driver who was arrested for several offences! Well done Olly! #TheNoseKnows

Last night PD Blue helped local officers searching for a 16 year old missing person struggling with their mental health. After a long search Blue found the person 15 feet up a tree and they were helped down and given the care they needed. Well done Blue.

Yesterday a wanted male cycled off from officers and disappeared. PD Olly’s chauffeur located the male again and when Olly barked at him and suggested he gave up, the male got off his bike and surrendered!

No wonder PD Ebby looks pleased with herself here! Overnight four suspects broke into several HGVs at a service station. Two were caught by @NorthantsARV and two ran off across fields. Ebby tracked for two miles before finding them trying to hide in an abandoned building!

Last PD Gru’s chauffeur pursued a cloned, stolen lorry cab over several miles. It was stung by @NorthantsARV officers and the driver decamped and ran into fields. He was tracked by Gru and saw this face👇🏻 when Gru found him so he gave up. Arrested for numerous offences.

PD Kez helped protect a vulnerable person today. After a patient left hospital, Kez tracked through woodland, along the side of a busy main road and located the person hiding in woodland. They were returned to hospital to receive treatment. #notjustcrime #protectingpeople
