20s I made some poor decisions.
30s I rediscovered myself.
I’m not sure what 40s hold, but I’m in the best shape of my life, I’m wiser than ever, and I have the best people in my life so I know it’s going to be amazing and I’m here for it.

Usually when I go out I’ll have a drink or two, but recently I’ve been feeling like even occasional drinking goes against everything I’m trying to do for my health and well being. Maybe I’ll stay sober for a while. What do you think?
Yesterday, I got laid off from my job after 15 years and I was pretty devastated.
Today I have a new outlook and I’m feeling excited for a new chapter and new opportunities. Change can be hard but sometimes it’s the push you need.

This morning I woke up to an email reminding me that today (after 15 years with the same company) I’m officially unemployed. I shed a final tear and went on a gorgeous 5 mile run around the lake.
Now I’m focused, ready to let go and move on.

During my run I tell myself - by the end of your run, all your stress will have washed away… most of the time it works and it’s a great motivator!
It wasn’t easy getting up before work this morning to run but I’m so glad I did. I hit my PR in the 2 mile! 🥇(since I got back into running at least)

What a day… final goodbyes with my daughter at her college dorm were hard. Then drove 3 hours north to avoid the storm. Hopefully my flight leaves on time tomorrow cuz I’m dying to get home. But hey, at least I’m ending the night in a hot tub 😅

Celebrating a milestone at 40! Just completed my first half marathon, though it took me half a mile to hit the start button. 😅 Pushing through the rain towards the end was incredibly tough. But I'm proud to say I made it, and feeling super strong & confident!

FOCUS! 👀 Exercise is obviously physical but it is also very mental. I have to focus really hard to ensure proper technique, breathing, and activation of muscles. That’s also why it’s therapeutic - it gets my mind off everything else. With this workout I did two sets of 10 reps
Happy Tuesday!! Today’s workout focuses on glutes and all on the mat, so easy to do with little space. I use a resistance band and a 15lb dumbbell but you can also do these w/o equipment.

Fall runs are magical! ✨ Not my fastest 2 miles but definitely enjoyable. There’s something about listening to acoustic guitar, seeing the leaves changing colors, and crunching leaves beneath your feet while you run. 🍂🍁
