for anyone who wants to join in. Three of anything! Reply, QT or start your own thread using the

hashtag.
Today I have three butterflies.
Does anyone have any bright or fluorescent bird/wildlife photos to share? I have a couple, I was tempted to tone them down because they almost look unnatural. But this is their true color so I left their color as is. Happy New Year!
QT a majestic photo.
This one was hard for me as most of my photos lean towards “cute”. Then I remembered my Atticus Finch photos, he always looks so dignified.
It’s

again! Please QT your threes, trios and triples! This is my last deer trio. Unfortunately I cut off the ears but I just love the expressions on their sweet faces! 🙂🙂 Happy Thursday

👋👋
Has anyone ever seen a heron swimming like a duck? I hadn’t until recently. Apparently herons are not proficient swimmers but great blue herons are better than most. Do you have a photo of a swimming heron?
It’s

again time to share your photos of threes, trios and triplets. RT, reply or start your own using the hashtag.
The sandhill cranes are on the move again!
Baby bluebirds! Three of them total. This one behind the front one was pretty chill to begin with. Then he started getting mad cuz front baby was getting all the worms. Very mad! Eventually climbed right over him. 😂😂

I have a pair* of female downy woodpeckers. The top one has no clue she is being stalked from behind until the second one finally pounces and takes over as queen of the branch.

Today I have a trio of male wood ducks. It also qualifies for
#StickHappens
😁
On our trike trip a few days ago, a pair of sandhill cranes landed right in the middle of a redwing blackbird nesting ground. Apparently sandhills like to eat the eggs and baby redwings! The redwings pounced! Not super great pictures but it was one of those things I won’t forget.
Just the other day
@nihilibex
and I were talking about blond mallard ducks. We happen to have two of them at the nearby Walmart pond (
@Dr_Brian_Pet
). Unusual as they are supposed to be rather rare. Google say they are considered leucistic. She has 11 ducklings total, no blonds.
My first ever both seeing and photographing a green heron. While not rare necessarily, it is pretty unusual to see one around here. But this one was right along the lake near the dam and seemed to have no fear of us.
It’s Thursday so it time for another round of

I know I’ve posted this guy before but considering the distance I feel lucky to have captured him, I got about 5 shots before he took off. Fortunately I had my 2x extender on at the time.

QP a basket full of…..?
I have a basket with me most of the time on my mobility scooter. It carries a bag of peanuts for bird friends but one day I gave in to a grey squirrel because she was a nursing mother.
This is the bravest little duckling ever. I named him Ranger (as in Lone Ranger) because he has been orphaned almost 3 weeks now. He stays completely to himself which seems to be working great for him. I really can’t believe he has made it this long! The egret got his sibling.
Hang out in our backyard and look at the creek long enough, there is no telling what you will see! This turkey just came waltzing through like she was here forever. 🙂 🦃
