ADDITIONAL OPTIMISM - in the first half of 2015, for reasons known and unknown, Robinson Cano hit .251/.290/.370. In the second half he hit .331/.387/.540, and then raked the rest of his time in Seattle. Baseball is very hard and very weird, and I think Jesse Winker will be ok.

Praise to the Oakland Athletics for not trying to be a baseball team this year, and allowing the positivity to flow on a hump day.

Had this season been playing out in 2020 I would largely be content tbh.

@nathan_h_b Is it just me or do most prospects who are going to break out break out in their sophomore seasons, especially the older ones. I feel like Raleigh Tram Gilbert definitely have done just that this year.

@nathan_h_b For sure. Besides struggling with off-speed stuff, both have looked fantastic for a month both on O and D.

@nathan_h_b Cal leads the Mariners in WRC+ for the month i believe. And Trammell has really proven imo that he belongs on the roster. In a season where there has been little to no support from role players, he has delivered.

@nathan_h_b Mostly agree. I want to see a little more from Trammell. As far as Raleigh goes, I don’t look for much out of a catcher offensively. So his pop is a huge bonus. He also doesn’t have a terrible eye for the zone. His good defensively but he needs to throw stealers out

@nathan_h_b I agree on Raleigh, have thought that all along even when he struggled initially. I think Trammell looks like a solid fourth outfielder on a playoff team....still valuable.
