Chef Tatsuya Sekiguchi also learned how to sign the entire tasting menu. My sister said she saw a printout behind the bar of how to sign parts of the menu. It blew her away and nearly brought me to tears. Here’s a video of him signing some menu items.

wrote a stellar review of Tatsu Dallas, an omakase restaurant that is one of the city’s hardest reservations. I’ve visited & love it a lot. The food is unmatched. But I want to tell you about the service at Tatsu Dallas.
NEW: A 25 y/o woman is suing Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and alleges that he is her biological father. Court docs say Jones & the woman's mother agreed on a settlement to financially support them as long as they didn’t say he was the father.
Service is something that I’ve always been interested in, but this takes the cake. My sister and her husband came home and raved about their dinner.
Brian says no detail goes unnoticed at Tatsu Dallas. It’s true. Tatsu Dallas is one of a kind.
The team sent over the tasting menu ahead of time, which allowed my sister and her husband to get an idea of what the night would look like. They were happy with that.
But when they arrived at the restaurant on the night of their reservation, they were greeted in ASL.
She knew the hype behind the omakase tasting menu, and she understood that a lot of the meal is intimate and explained by word of mouth. My sister and her husband are Deaf, and it’s sometimes hard for them to communicate. She emailed Tatsu Dallas about accommodations.
I visited Tatsu Dallas for the first time in August. Loved it and told my friends and family. My sister, a big foodie, was able to score a reservation earlier this month and had an experience that she’ll remember for the rest of her life.
Career update: I’m going to be a reporter! I’m moving from the
@dallasnews
Audience Team to the Breaking News hub, where I will work as an engagement reporter overseeing the Curious Texas project and reporting on occasional breaking news. My new gig starts Monday.
A Curious Texas history lesson on why Texas is on its own electrical grid.
I also find it very weird and coincidental that I wrote this only two weeks ago.
It’s bittersweet for me to announce that this week will be my last at
@dallasnews
. I’ve had the time of my life reporting stories that have blown my mind & brought me to tears.
In September, I’ll join
@DMagazine
as their next online dining editor! I’m excited for what’s to come.
Some personal news: I’m excited to be joining the

audience team as an audience engagement producer! I’ve had the BEST time as an intern here and am so stoked to be working for the local paper I grew up with. 🎉
Hi everyone! I was laid off from D Magazine today. I feel lucky to have told so many stories while here and make genuine connections. It was a true privilege!
If anyone’s got any job leads in journalism or comms in Dallas, I’d love to know!

My family could use good thoughts this weekend. We drove from Dallas to Austin late last night because my dear elder sister was involved in this accident.
Her leg is broken. She is awake, alert & in good spirits. We are grateful she is alive.

My sister is wrapping up her 5th surgery since last Friday. She will remain hospitalized for a few more weeks & we are hopeful it will be her last surgery for a long time. It is absolutely surreal what Melissa has gone and will go through. Please hug your sibs. 💛

It took 2 decades for DFW Turnpike to be paid off after it opened in 1957. It's now called I-30, & it's toll-free.
Today NTTA owes $9.3B in bonds for the toll roads in its system. Will we ever see the day when toll roads are paid off?

Hey North Texas: will ya let a lady know if you see an obscene amount of birds hanging out on power lines at a specific intersection on your drive home from work today? Working on a 🐦 CURIOUS 🐦 story about the birds. Pics encouraged!!

I need to clarify my tweet: ERCOT is trying to prevent a blackout, which is when the entire region loses power. Outages are different and controlled. A blackout is what would take a month to recover — not the current outages we are seeing.
